Every 150 flying hours, the engine should be opened and crankshaft bearings changed.
It's not the fastest operation ever, nor the simplest one, but with a steady hand and some patience, it can be done safely and correctly.

You should get a bearing cone heater. It's a lot easier than using a heat gun. Great video!

Perhaps next time, try freezing the bearing. Though, if you froze the crank, you could put both hot bearings on it--and then freeze the whole crank and bearings, and drop it in the hot housing halves, it might work easier. A thin film of 2-cycle oil will help protect the bearings and crank from rust from the frost.
