The diagram shows that you are going 3 steps up from C to D instead of two. I had to go back after playing and saw that, afterwards it was incredibly fun to play. Keep it going!

You put on a capo first fret playing key of G cords meaning it's actually being played in the Key of A... Why not take off the capo and actually play the key of G it actually sounds better...
