*This concerto is Vivaldi's revised version of RV 562 "fatto per la Solennita della S Lingua di S Antonio in Padua". It was intended for the celebrations marking the centenary of the Stadsschouwburg Theatre in Amsterdam. Compared to the original version, Vivaldi added a timpani, modified the oboe parts in the outer movements and replaced the slow violin cadenza movement with a simpler cantilena.

@festeringtool , the version I have is a record by Alessandro de Marchi (Conductor), Academia Montris Regalis (Orchestra), Coro di Accademia di Santa Cecilia (Chorus) I got the entire oratorio as well. What you say about Vivaldi is new to me; I guess it is never late to learn something new!

I prefer classical instrumental when writing. I can't have someone else's words in my head as I'm trying to find my own. Listened to this a number of times without thinking about it when suddenly I thought, "holy shit...!"

It has a spirited persistence, initially pleasant, but tedious in it's insistence by the end of the piece. I quite like Vivaldi, but not this. I thank you for posting it Harmonico, you have introduced me to so many pieces I had never heard before...it would be impossible I love them all.
