Crazy talk. God is a fictive idea. He was simply not hit due to luck and the odds of being hit from that distance by that weapon. If "God" was watching over him, why did he let the gunman shoot? Why did a father have to lose his life? Absolutely crazy and disgusting to call this divine intervention. It was tragic and nothing else. People lost their lives, and that's the focus. There's nothing positive here, it's a tragedy.

Vivek captured it perfectly. In the aftermath of the recent assassination attempt, I found myself reflecting deeply. Sitting on my bed, I thought about my beautiful wife and son and glanced at my closet which holds my home defense gear. I started recollecting about all the items and gear that'd been gathered over the years in preparation of safeguarding my family in the chance of (for example) a crisis like this one. It was sickening to think how close those preparations came to being necessary yesterday. While I value being prepared for any eventuality and enjoy collecting and building out my equipment for certain situations, witnessing our nation teeter on the edge of absolute chaos and the thought of putting that equipment to use, was deeply unsettling. I am grateful beyond words and thank the good Lord that President Donald J. Trump is okay and was able to emerge from this situation with his life, allowing me to cherish my family for at least another day.
