Vivo X Fold quick software review

Күн бұрынHi guys ! here is review about software ! I recorded that video in a basement where is kind of quite, I getting 4G reception there with the 4 bars !!!! Example my iphone 13 Pro max gives 4G (1-2 bars) in a same location !!! lol
Also I didn't said that there is no pre install app for IR blaster (remote control) download any app from the google store and you have fully functional remote control (recommended app is :Mi Remote). All chinese apps is easy to delete from the settings !!!
I have to apologies that I cut the end of the video because too much background noises appeared...

Thanks for the review, Greg! Quick questions I have and I'd appreciate your input: 1) does Google feed work on this device? This is mainly the left-hand side articles and news that are generally there when you swipe to the left. 2) do you get notifications instantly whenever a message or email is received? I Heard there could be some challenges even when you run apps in the background, so have you faced any issues? 3) How frequently do you get Android / software and app updates on this vivo x fold phone compared to other Android phones like Samsung? 4) does the entire Android system including all apps work on this device?

Wow...thanks for the video and please update more and do a full review ;)....About KZfaq app don't rotate for full screen,can you try go to KZfaq by using Chrome to see if it work,thanks and subscribed :)

Thanks for the video! Really wanted this as it has a far better camera than my fold 3 but it does not support 5g or wifi calling on my carrier in Canada. Vivo did a great job on this just too bad they only care about chinese market!

hi! I saw KZfaq in your vivo x phone , I have a question: are the frames black at the top and bottom when you watch videos in the KZfaq app bigger or not ? is there a scaling of the video to the screen format in the unfolded form when you watch KZfaq ?

The more square aspect ratio means proportionally even worse letterboxing (black bars) than the Z Fold 3. The screen may be big and beautiful but the aspect ratio is atrocious for most games and video content.

Look I tried with Apple pen. Is not working (not on external not on internal) With Universal stylus (with rubber) it will work definitely. I would also will try with Samsung stylus because this phone using Samsung A5 screen (latest) so it should work lol right ?

Its not compatible with AT&T 5g...ive watched so many videos on this device because i wanted to make sure what its limitations are before i made the decision to buy or not. Seems to at least get a few 5g bands on T-mo

Hay Greg, very nice video and you honestly mentioned everything about the phone. I got the phone and it works flowles. I have a question have you tried to change the launcher? I tried Nova but it keeps going back every time I hit home. There is in the settings a place to allow change the launcher. But u have to verify account which always fail. If I change ip to indea it work. But then it goes back when I go back to the US ip. Any ideas or fix? Keep up the good work

I found some cool setting that 100% will help you. U forgot to change default launcher! Open: Settings > search > type: default app settings > Home screen> choose launcher

@@PhonesOnaDailyBasis Thank you so much for your reply. Tho i have this et to Nova but still it keeps going back to vivo launcher the sec i hit home button. I think the only way is to do it from Search type Replace the system Launcher then replace the system launcher then Allow the launcher to be replaced. Can you do me a favor Try those settings i just mentioned and let me know what you will end up too. It looks like here is the only place where we can help each others since i googled every where no support but here. So keep it up.

@@PhonesOnaDailyBasis Honestly that is the best foldable phone i have ever tried. And works great with US tmobile. And i have tried every single fold that came out in the market here and over seas Opoo Magic V Huawei you name it. And of course Samsung Fold all of them. But i am done with Samsung and their support. They take the money then when you call for help they just push you away. Any ways That Vivo definitely replaced my Samsung z 3 Fold

Do you get notifications off WhatsApp and other third party app on the always on display after you adjusted the battery management as on the oppo find n that I have it does not work nor does loading your Google account on to your smartwatch as I have the ticwatch pro 3, nor does the edge lighting... Thanks!! I have the Mi 11 Ultra and the disappointing thing on this phone is the lack of 5G and no carrier aggregation so speeds are slow. I wanted to be sure on the network before I drop 1800 for a new phone

Were you able to change the default launcher? I've tried five different launchers and I can change it but once I hit the home button for its back to the vivo launcher

I never change the default launcher. But there are option available. U have to log jn to vivo account first. Later Go to settings>search>default app settings>home screen>choose your launcher. Also after when you choose default launcher....change back to 3 button 🔘 nav bar. Maybe gestures pushing back stock launcher....

Can you enable developer settings and change the DPI? Another reviewer was saying that he couldn't change the DPI and so a lot of the apps looked too big for him.

Yes is possible! I changed the dpi in development settings. But is hard to return to back to factory. Only after factory reset

I'm too lazy to describe the jello effect, but I've found the explanation from how to geek website; "The term “jelly scrolling” is used to describe a display phenomena where one side of the display appears to lag slightly behind the other in motion. For example, while scrolling a web page the text on the left moves ever so slightly faster than the text on the right. This creates an uneven scrolling experience, hence the term jelly scrolling."

@@PhonesOnaDailyBasis a good point, but an expensive solution. I am also keen on ordering it, but the delivery to the Philippines (which I'm currently at), might take forever. Also, the UI looks very iOS, which in turn makes it took.....uninspired, to say the least. Which site did you get it from? On another note, the fold 4 is coming, which I expect will have the superior software experience
