Great video and it was very interesting and also surprising to see how the Vivo x80 performed so differently in different scenarios. It seems like a phone with great potential in terms of cameras but so far that potential is not realised. Basically, the photo quality in terms of detail, exposure and dynamic range was good. Colour inconsistency and in particular oversaturated daytime photos and daytime video were the main issues. Maybe they are finding it difficult to adjust the RGBW sensor for some scenarios. It is likely to take some time to get it more consistent. Will be interesting to see if they will do this with later updates for this model or if the RGBW sensor won't be fully optimized until future generations of the x series. My concern would be that the oversaturated colours in daylight might also be a conscious choice by Vivo as it seems to be also present with the ultrawide lens. Will be interesting to see if the x80 pro colour profile is different

I have the X80 and the camera is really good. The best part is that it costs way less than an iPhone 13/14 Pro Max even with the same amount of internal storage.

While me and most #HTTsquad know iPhone is gonna be the winner and it happened i didnt expect the vivo x80 can fought this well. Its simply beyond our expectation, cuz this is the vanilla X80. Although it definitely not perfect and has a lot of issue for now like not working EIS in 4k 60, bizzare color rendition, still bad quality selfie video, not optimized night mode photo and its Ultrawide & telephoto lens not as good as iPhone 13 pro even after update, i still more than satisfied enough. Especially it has fight neck and neck and even better in some condition than super flagship. Plus If we remember it cost hundreds of dollar less make it more impressive. What vivo has to do is working on the software and algorhytm since it come with some new hardware and new V1+ ISP. I think The Sony IMX866 RGBW sensor potential haven't been released and algorhytm tuning definitely takes some time.

I must say I am totally stunned by the fight the X80 has put against the 13 Pro, I will say that in the video department mainly the main sensor video the X80 is actually the same and in some cases of the 1080 p video better than the iPhone since it managed to control the environment overall better in both white balance and dynamic range. The landscape shots it falls behind sometimes even the iPhone itself due to poor dynamic range.

between Vivo x80 and VivoX70 PRO which one will be better choice?

I think Vivo could easily change the colour problem with an software update and it would be more or less as good as the way, way more expensive iPhone 13 Pro. BUT I'm not sure if they will do it, because as all lenses had the same colour grading and colour temperature it looks intentional to me and I mean they doesn't look bad, it looks like they want to make social media ready out of the box. I mean I personally and I know Han thinks the same, like natural colour tone more, I want that picture to look exactly like the real life scene looked. But they might save that for the Vivo X80 Pro, where I'm waiting excited for Han's review and than also X80 Pro + when it comes out.

We already know the winner without any doubt. So I'm not going to compare x80 with iphone in this comment of mine. I'm focusing mainly on cons and pros of Vivo. Talking about pros it did well in indoor shots(thanks to that update,considering price it's acceptable) and the video stabilization and highlighted exposure is amazing imo. Finally in night mode I'm surprised by the exposure control of vivo,I'll say it's best in class at its price point. However details was not that enough imo. Saturated colors(especially greens and blue) poor white balance and some art effects are the biggest cons of this Smartphone. I think they may struggling optimising RGBW sensor. Hopefully(most likely) it can be fixed by an update,and thankfully Vivo is always best at fixing issues through it. #HTTSquad

Please make comparison of same price range: Oppo Find X5 Pro Vivo X80 Pro with Samsung S22+ in terms of photography and videography. Please kindly do it fast as I am changing phone urgently. In term of processing software of photo, Samsung still better than the China brands?

Before start of the video, i knew that iphone 13pro will win. But i was excited to see a phone with lesser than half price how much fight it will give to iphone. And im shocked with the result, x80 cant defeat iphone 13 but it has a great camera and capabilities. And im a guy who always edits his clicks, so anyhow i will fix color balance and all after clicking. So in my opinion considering price vivo x80 will be great choice with great processor and great camera.

Although the iPhone 13 pro demolished the vivo. It's actually surprising that vivo fought back well and the fact that it's less than half the price is compelling! Thanks for the video han 💖 I wonder what the x80 pro+ can do!
