VIZIO TV Will NOT Turn On. EASY FIX.

I have a brand new Vizio V Series TV which would not turn on. Rather than throw it away, I looked into repairing it. It turned out to be quite simple! Before you give up on your TV, take a look at how I fixed mine and you may be able to bring yours back to life!

Great Video, Thanks! However, it would have been nice, although a pain, to know if was just the powerboard...My tv was on (70inch) when I got in shower, when I got out, all I had on screen was the V logo, would not turn on or off so I unplugged, waited a minute then tried again, no joy...now to take mine apart and see how it goes! Thanks again!

Hi Alan, I would agree with you. My guess is a power surge or brown out damaged electronics. Since the pair was cheap I just went all in! 😄

We shouldn't have to do this. The manufacturer has some problems to fix. I spent 600 on both of my vizioz... set them both on the curb after a year. Had this problem on both of them. They would just shut off. Then after 2 or 3 days. I could cut them on and they would shut off. Then after awhile they wouldn't cut on at all.

Umpf. That’s frustrating. Since replacing power and main board, the Vizio has been working well. Perhaps they had a bad batch of circuit boards….

they are self dissolving. They are made to self destruct a few days after the warrantee expires. They are indeed trash.

One of these on marketplace I might get if the guy can meet me. psu itself is $12 on ebay. Hoping to just track down what is faulty on the psu board itself and change it.

This is by far the worst vizio tv generation, lots of these tvs are failing due to the screen issues, the buffer board on the actual screen fails therefore the screen needs to be replace which is impossible cause the don't sell the screen so pretty much the tv its useless, i fix tvs and i have i bunch of those with the same problem

Hello, was the light at the Bottom of the screen on when the tv wasn’t working? My mom has the same tv and it just went out on her and I’m trying to figure it out

My tv did not respond at all to the remote or the power button. If your tv power indicator lights up, I would try replacing the main board 1st.

Replaced power supply board but tv still just blinks the power light and never turns on. Any guesses??

Hello, since I had the combo pack and it was just a couple more screws I swapped it. If the tv experienced a power surge or broke out, both could have been damaged.

Not gonna lie.... I love this TV for my gaming, movies, and the quality of it. I've paid $350 for mines and it's the exact same one as yours in this video. 50inch 4K TV. My tv issue is the TV won't respond to my remote. N now the buttons on the TV isn't responding either. It doesn't go to Home Screen anymore or turns off on its on when IDLE. This problem started literally 24 hours ago while watching WWE live pay per view. I tried to turn it down with my remote n it didnt respond. It didn't respond to anything I was pressing. N my TV right now is still on and I'm scared to turn it off, but I'm knowing I'm gonna have to. I am very frustrated because I've worked hard for this Tv and I don't wanna spend another check on another TV. I haven't had this tv for two months yet. I don't wanna buy a tech board n do all that extra. There has to be a easier way. What happens when I turn it off??? It feels like my tv is on life support 💔😭 bc if I u plug the tv it might not come back on😭😭😭 I truly worked hard for this gift to myself.

Sounds like it might be a software glitch. I recommend you unplug it for 30 minutes. Hard reboot. It might be fine. You should use a surge protector going forward. I put links to the parts in description because Shop Jimmy is “out of stock”. It’s a very easy procedure. I hope this helps!

i tried a fix on a vizeo E-75 tv. Over a thousand bucks when i bought it. It spontaneously dissolved. I replaced the power board and the main board. it is still dead as a doornail. I throw my tvs away every three years because these youtube fix videos never work and are only posted for selling parts to hapless people who think today's tvs are fixable.

Sorry to hear that. I suspect a power surge could have taken out more than a board. I will say my TV is working well since the new board.

Bit confused so a New Power board and Main board you only gave the price of 1 part and didn't explain why the main board was swapped out

That was the price for kit. So I changed both. Mine needed a new power board as it would not power on at all.

Carolyn, I had no power light so I was originally going to just replace the power board. But since the price for both was minimal, I chose to replace both power and main board. Good luck!!
