Part 1: • John Salley on His For...
--------
Vlad and John Salley discussed differences in fame, wealth, and Hollywood dynamics in relation to Taraji P. Henson. Vlad expressed admiration for Henson's talent, believing she should be a standout in every film. However, he detailed the inequities of Hollywood earnings and suggested Henson should create her own projects, using Reese Witherspoon's successful shift to production as an example. He referenced his limited profit from his first documentary, which led him to advocate for self-empowerment in creative endeavors. Salley pointed out the further challenges faced by female and Black actors in the industry. The conversation concluded with Vlad suggesting that taking less money for a high-profile role like Henson did in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", can lead to more lucrative opportunities later. Vlad also pointed out that even though John Salley is far more famous than him, they still have the same economic status - letting viewers know that behind-the-scenes work can be just as lucrative as fame.

Please Vlad you are getting worse with talking over your guest during debatable topics. Not sure if you think it’s helping your content viewership but i and as well as others are starting to become frustrated with you interrupting the guests points. There’s been a number of times where the guest was about to say something I would like to hear and you interrupt, then that point they were about to make, never comes up again. It’s frustrating to a critical thinker that is actively listening and watching. Maybe if you were doing a podcast without video, you would have to be more attentive of that. Just saying

He is incredibly ridiculous on this topic and not even letting Salley speak. You are exactly right. Even if she did start producing, something that we have no idea they she is even interested in or capable of leading. That don't change the fact that basic white women make more than her for acting. Something that we KNOW that she is elite at doing. Can she make a lot more money producing? Sure I guess. But she could also go completely bankrupt and die broke.

Still missing the point Vladimir. She is calling out the unfairness. Period. If it’s unfair or discriminative then it should be called out for what it is. That is her argument. Did you fairly pay your staff when you took a loss and didn’t make enough to pay yourself? Or did you just pay the men their market value and give the women a fraction of what you paid the men? I honestly agree with Vlad! As a person who thinks business it is extremely hard especially when you have to bankroll you own stuff. With very little money. People need to learn how to leverage their position, America was built on capitalism, that is how our country has become so great. Before you play the game you must first understand the rules, the beauty of our country is, if you don't like how the game is being played, take a different position. It will eventually benefit you. Instead of being dependent, become independent, socialism and capitalism are completely different. And obviously they are government structures, but whatever industry you are in is being governed by someone, at some point you have to learn the loopholes of your industry, and use them for your benefit. No one is supposed to give you anything! You have to take it!

If Brad or somebody like a Clooney/equal star power wasn’t in the movie, it was a flop, plain and simple. The love affair was the first “supporting” actor and unknown til this day. Taraji WAS NOT lead, and all said and done, I think she came up getting 150k. That role was not that important, and ANYbody could have played that role. Let’s be real here.

Regina King and Tasha Smith as well are doing their own thing putting together their own projects and putting them out. I'm pretty sure Kevin Heart,Steve Harvey,Lebron James,Denzel,Samuel Jackson, Will Smith,Jay-Z etc. would partner up with and even help finance a project with Taraji. Taraji has enough high power blk Hollywood friends that would help her, maybe even star in her movie at discount. The folks who do Queen Latifah movies I'm pretty sure they're doing it bcuz of their friendship with Queen Latifah.
