10 Ways To Biblically Deal With Difficult People
In this Thursday's live stream I will be going through 10 practical and biblical ways to deal with difficult people in your life.
TAKEAWAY NOTES:
10 Ways to Deal with Difficult People
⁃ Pray (take time to pray and ask God to examine your heart)
⁃ Stay Silent (truly listen to understand, not to reply)
⁃ Embrace Suffering (don’t run from all pain, God can use it)
⁃ Be Vulnerable (Jesus processed His pain by calling out to God)
⁃ Forgive First (don’t wait for an apology. Disinfect your wound ASAP)
⁃ Respond, Don’t React (think about how God wants you to respond; don’t just react.)
⁃ Keep Serving (Jesus kept ministering, despite His pain.)
⁃ Receive From Others (in difficult times allow others to minister to you.)
⁃ Distance Yourself (set up boundaries with people who don’t repent.)
⁃ Scars Heal (Jesus resurrected, so will you. God will bring you healing.)

It is important to set up boundaries with people who do not repent or are toxic. Forgiving a wicked person does not mean you have to be friends with them.

@Cherylhuggins A question I currently have regarding that, is what if the parents become toxic to a degree. How do you honor toxic parents. Ones that perhaps may not be openly abusive, but rather become controlling and even micro-manage your young adult (eary 20's) life, even though you don't live a sinful, rebellious life. Like, what if trust issues dictate their parenting. And if they choose not to see their faults and receive any corrections because of entitlement. A friend of mine is going through something like this, and there may have been a few details I missed.

@@codyanderson6186 when the Bible tells us to “bless” our enemies even, one of the core meanings of that phrase is to “not speak against”. Take David as an example. He honored a “toxic” king Saul. He didn’t seek a relationship with him, the opposite actually! He constantly had to hide from him. But he would never “dishonor” or speak against “the Lords anointed. There are times that yes we might have to separate or set up boundaries. In no way is that “dishonoring”. But it’s so easy to fall into the realm of gossip and using our words to dishonor them. Do not speak against but do pray for them. This is the best way to honor those parents in this situation. Now If it got really bad and this person had to take it to the point of having them arrested for abuse, etc. this is still not dishonoring. Quite the opposite I would say. Even being truthful and calling it out in love is not dishonor it’s honor.

Yeah, it was hard to deal with crazy parents. My mistake years ago was not having boundaries with them and enforcing them. In my youth. Sheila, while we can't hate people, we don't have to be around abusive parents and enable evil ! It's not a sin to block abuse. Narcissistic people can't be pleased or reasoned with. Your mother chooses to be dysfunctional. You don't have to stay and take abuse.

"Forgiveness Does not restore trust..Set boundaries." Thank you pastor! I had a hard time trying to understand what forgiving an evil person who refuses to change! Someone pray for me. I have an evil co worker whom for three years have spread evil rumors, mess with things on my desk, provoke me to react and tries to set me up to fall before others. She will literally devise scenarios in which I will fall in front of others. She prepares wicked responses for if I answer yes or if I answer no on her calculated questions. I ignore her all the time and try to answer professionally during work and keep it short. I am tired of the harassment and being stalked by her. She is a wicked envious person. I'm trying hard to forgive and move on but it's like doing evil revives her vigor for doing it!

I've been, though, a lot of evil people in the workplace. Horrible manipulative bosses, mean co-workers. I know what you're going through. I used to cry going to work because I didn't want to go. But the bills have to be paid. So you go. Later in life, I learned to always talk to Jesus to help me through the day. All day long. I was so blessed to have him help me through. I also noticed that my boss and others were starting to respond in a nicer manner towards me. When you humble yourself, others can become your friend. Talk to Jesus, and turn the problems over to him. Life is so better. Let Jesus be your friend 🙏

13:22 this hit home so hard. My stepdad is one of the most difficult human beings I’ve ever met in my entire life. I have to pray before and after leaving his presence. I must say this was so helpful to remember that Jesus was silent in front of Pontius. There is nothing that I can say that will make my stepdad change his mind that he knows everything and I know nothing. Thank you for this message on dealing with difficult people. It is such a great reminder. I also have to remember that I am a pain in the butt when it comes to Jesus too.

This helped me a lot. I prayed to God about helping me figure out how to handle some different difficult circumstances in my life with other people that I care about, but they care less about me. God lead me here and I made notes in my journal. Praise be to God and the Holy Spirit for always answering my prayers when I come to him. Thank you for this.

The most healthy and important thing that I learned and embraced in my life as a Christian is setting up boundaries with people who always took me for granted. This video affirmed my questions about forgiveness and boundaries. Ptr. Vlad, you are a blessing to my heart. God bless you, your family, amd your ministry in Christ Jesus.

I am listening to this message for the first time ... I have been so mentally traumatized by repetitive circumstances happening over years that I've failed to read the bible for a long time for myself as I feel constantly overwhelmed ... by God's amazing grace He has fed me scriptures from the past or a song to lift me up, as a sword... I just haven't known how to break this cycle re relationships with people ... THANK YOU Pasor Vlad for caring and sharing these pearls of instruction

Vlad, this was excellent. I watched it twice! Betrayal is a hard thing to forgive especially when you realize that your loved one chose to do this. Then, anger at myself for staying with someone who has always chose to lie and manipulate. I can say that the forgiveness feels so good. I have a testimony!! I thank Jesus for this tough season. Much good has come from it.

Convicted 🔥. I was in the world of new age and therapy etc and the belief that you should never have to endure people who are annoying was still in me . Yes we should have boundaries but I definitely felt like something was wrong when I have people out of order in my life. Saying about how Jesus encountered people that were also out of order convicted me on how to suffer . Thank you 😊

I am new to your channel and felt such a blessing! After suffering rejection from family members, husband, children etc., I have heard this message three times and will turn to it often til it helps me understand. Thank you for this message, I felt for many years like the closer I get to God, the further I got along with others. I have been abused many times and felt it was just a sign of a martyrdom, your message helped me with this misconception. My answer has been to just avoid and keep away living a very solitary life. I am glad that I ran to Jesus with this problem of difficult people. You taught me a lot, thank you for this dear brother. Please keep me in prayer.

Ohh I understand completely. Me too. I isolated myself from people who have hurt me. I was unforgiving and in turn became very bitter. I will forgive them even though they have not asked for forgiveness. I don't want to be left behind because of my unforgiveness. Christ Jesus forgave me as he hung on the cross. So I too will forgive as soon as I am offended. I'll pray for you. Will you pray for me?
