Great video and some really good information about the body position when running down. I can run fast down and usually let my feet go as yours...making it a little tougher for my legs, but the speed is really increasing when doing it right. Again...THAKS! /Thomas Lummi

Thanks Vlad! I get overtaken always on the trail downhills and it's getting worse! I feel I've lost a fair amount of agility and 'bounce' and it shows on the more technical trails. Am also super slow now on downhill stairs (lots of these on Hong Kong trails!). Any of your strength workout videos you can recommend? Oh - found it as someone already asked the same question. Will try that workout!

Need one on steep downhills like the side of mountains. The example here is abit tame for most trail races.

Just wanted to mention that many times I've been that guy that lazily doesn't train enough uphill, conserves the whole way up, then blasts by ppl in droves on the downhill. I almost feel bad doing it, but what can ya do? 😅

Great info thanks, I wish I knew this sort of stuff when I was trail running. But I would say that if you want to be faster down hill, bring those flailing arms in and under control.

Thank you for sharing. Very well timed video! Summer in the UK, and many runners are hitting the trails. Downhill is definitely something I need to work on. Can you recommend one of your strength workouts to support downhill running?

@@VladIxel Thank you Vlad! It's pretty flat where I live, we have one 'proper' hill that takes me two minutes to run up and about thirty seconds to run down lol But it's something. I'll add this routine to my rotation.

Our local trail is so much muddy and most of the time it rains there and the ground is always wet (mud). No matter how big are the teeth of my shoes... muds will really push you down :(

Great video. Thank you! What is your suggestion on the downhills at 2nd half of a 50mile or 100mile race? By then legs most likely are sore and don’t have that much flexibility and mobility like the beginning of the race.
@VladIxel3 жыл бұрын
yes it very hard with those long ultra trail races - try and "save" the legs at the early stages of the race and make sure you do a lot of strength work to build up the strength in the legs
