www.vladtv.com - Swizz Beatz opens up about his decision to take a break from music so he could go to Harvard University Business School. He explains that after having a hand in changing billion dollar companies, it was time to go to college and learn the real language of business.
He admits that his classmates didn't recognize him as an artist until his wife, Alicia Keys, came in one day toward the end of class. Swizz adds that he was already cool with everyone in his class, so he wasn't treated any differently.
Check out more of what Swizz has to say about his Harvard experience above.

Vlad gets paid per view. He gets a certain amount of money every time someone clicks of his videos, even if they don't watch it fully. That's why he takes interviews & chops them up. More views=more money. There's an interview with Dame Dash where he breaks it down.

Respect to the fact that he's wasnt comfortable with where he is. He knows they use specific language he didn't understand to probably leave him out of certain information. If you can't beat'em... join'em!!!

Swizz isn't trying to join them he's making sure they know he's above their level. To come from a background he's came from, be a multimillionaire businessman, and going to get the education foundation shows that he's already surpassed their level of understanding. He's there to beat them and show them he owns them!!!

@@MotivationalMVideos Are you his mind reader or something? I think you are way off based on what he said He is there to learn. This kind of courses are a great learning experience not only from what you can learn from teachers, but what you can learn from other students and a lot of people there would be the same.

@@MotivationalMVideos Everything does not have to be competitive or about being better than other students. Real leaders listen and learn more than they speak. The fact that he recognized where his weakness is in a business where and sacrificed to go to school in an effort to shore up those weaknesses speaks volumes for Swizz both as a businessman and a man. It is an extremely difficult thing to do so he deserves all the credit in the world. We should encourage more of this type of thing.

Not a big deal. Latinos get in easy because they can speak Spanish and Americans will need to know Spanish just to function in the US in about 20 years from now because Latinos are the only race in America who refuse to learn English or pretend not to speak it. Well played, Latinos.. well played. Trump2020

@@AB-st8to Affirmative action policies are stupid and wasteful. What they do in essence is that it helps blacks and latinos gain admission into a selective program, but they drop out from said programs at much high rates because they're not cut out for the academic rigor. All this does is squander opportunities for non-blatino students who would have been prepared to work hard and succeed in such an environment. And no, I don't support legacy admissions either. I see why a lot of us as African-Americans can't get anywhere. Because too many of us focus on the negatives and not the positive. So what if he didn't get into Harvard the traditional way? He is trying to better himself and show that there is a bigger side not only to the music business, but most business that a lot of individuals wouldn't understand, simply because they don't understand business and the vernacular that's used. The others that are in the class are not getting slighted (which I'm pretty sure that majority of them are White), but the one that looks like us, is being ridiculed. Really sad, especially sad in an era where most people in music aren't saying anything worth listening to. Plus, you don't even know that you covertly approving of schools who use acceptance practices that disproportionately excludes people of lower incomes (which are usually minorities). We have to be able to think critically before being so quick to speak.

That's only due to our parents and the generation above us being brainwashed by feeling the paper is the most important thing, which it's not..they can have been instilled and taught that school is number one.. So therefore people can be rich whatever and still feel like they ain't do enough or whatever and tbh, with the internet, library's and stuff you have the sources to teach and the world to go out and do trial and error. Let that be your school and classes. til then getting successful and rich per se, it's okay to have hat and sustain and not goto school, cause it's billionaires or close to who definitely didn't get their degree.

I was the only Black dude in my class from America. Everyone else was from India, China, Italy, Russia etc. Three years later I'm no closer to being an executive than I was when I was living in the projects. America is still filled with racist hiring policies, unfair promotional policies and income inequality.

Shout out to Swiss for sharing this with the world! This has to be one of the very few pieces of positive that has come from the world of hip hop lately. Many artist only have their eyes on the small amount of cash they can earn from the industry -- But fail to understand that the industry is strictly business! Because of the classes Swiss is taking he will now be able to open new doors and negotiate even bigger deals! Salute! -- #10XWealthGroup

@C II my goodness do i ever agree with that. Honestly, it does frustrate me that executive education (OMP, AMP, etc) members are in our alumni network. I mean, we gave up our lives to get our MBA's there. It took years off my life to be honest. And because Harvard Business School values the almighty dollar they suck up to corporations and wealthy individuals for executive education. They just sign up and pay the money. We moved to Boston, took on a hundred thousand in debt, did 800 case studies, got tortured and tormented by professors. so to hear Tyra Banks act like she has an accredited degree from Harvard Business School is, well, laughable. Have a good day.

@@ricolaw1033 It's so great to hear someone else from a top program feels the same way. i appreciate you very much. I just think they should be in a separate network, that's all. They even profile exec ed people in our alumni magazine, as if they went through the brain damage you and i did. It's an insult. but i suppose its too much to ask these programs to not chase and worship the almighty dollar. Btw i know the intensity is the same at Wharton, Stanford and Harvard. Kellogg doesnt have the same hazing we had.

he doesn't go to harvard lol tyra banks did the same thing a few years ago, and caught fire for making it seem like she was really going to harvard.. owner's classes are certificate programs for people who are rich and own businesses.. it's designed to help them take their business to the next level and has nothing to do with harvard college, a high gpa or great test scores.. rather, you're accepted based on your bank account.. funny how it's always african people (tyra, swizz, ried) making it seem like they're going to harvard college or going for their master's degree.. but ahmad really did go to stanford

So when a black person is proud of furthering their education, you still find a way to rain on their parade? Why can't you just be proud of what someone is doing instead of analyzing it and berating it? It doesn't matter what he is doing there, he is there. Would you prefer him to be at the club throwing money at strippers or growing his business so more people around him can get money? Stop being simpleminded and grow up.
@BrianErwin

Robdee999 dude, shut the fuck up.. on here sounding like senile granddad.. all your rhetorical questions had nothing to do with the OP.. i'd rather these brother and sisters be true to themselves and to their fans.. i also have a friend who i had to check for trying to make it seem like he goes to USC, when he was actually in a certificate program.. people study and work their asses off to get into these prestigious schools and we don't take kindly to liars who make it seem like they did the same thing.. read the crimson.. they didn't like what tyra did, either.. she made it seem like her gpa and test scores got her into harvard college.. they need to stop.. again, i'll be proud of a person who keeps it real, rather than lying to himself and to the public.. swizz clearly lied in this video and made it seem like he's working on an MBA at harvard business school, which he is not.. there are students working on their MBA at Harvard, who graduated from undergrad with honors and their gpa and intelligence got them in, while swizz's bank account got him in an affiliate program, which he's trying to pass off as a degree program

Brian Erwin Like I said, why can't you just be proud of what someone is doing instead of analyzing it and berating it? And he is going to Harvard, just because he isn't enrolled in "regular" classes doesn't mean he's less than anyone else on the campus. And please don't use the words brothers and sisters because the way you're acting is the furthest away from family. Family would be happy with the accomplishment no matter what part of Harvard that person goes too.

Swizz hit the nail on the head. Everyone is not as smart as you think they are. I remember palms sweating my first two days of undergrad. So many know it all's in the room flexing. By semester's end they were average at best. Black people, please go to college if it fits your life. It's not difficult, it's just worded in a way that may seem confusing at first if you come from a non academic background or impoverished community. Just keep showing up, chipping at it and get it done. Pick a stem major and an easy 45k entry level salary (conservative number) in any metropolitan area for life. You cant go wrong with a computer science degree this decade.
