In this clip, Howard Hewett discussed his issues with the pop department over at Elektra Records during his time as a solo artist. He also opened up about his "Miami experience" where he was caught up in a drug distribution case through his ex-fiancée. As a result of his association, Howard was faced with a conspiracy charge that could've landed him in prison for 60 years.

Shawn A, you are right ✅HH is 👍Great People. I met him 30yrs ago, while working 💪part time 4 Hiton Hotel in Morristown NJ. I was 🏨working in housekeeping. I had 2 clean his 👋room, He was staying @ the Hilton 4 a week. He's a Very Neat person. I left a📝note w/ my phone# 4 him stating, I was a big fan of his & Shalamar, I had his solo & group albums and I would like 2 bring, 1 of his album 4 his autograph. He called me & said bring the album ^ he will sign it. I bought my album 😌, left in his room & he sign it. I still have it.💯✊🙏

I know exactly what he's saying about Miami around that time. In 1986 I flew down to Ft. Lauderdale to preach for a pastor friend of mine who actually lived in Miami and man I love it. The food and the scenery made it an outstanding experience I'll always remember.

I have been with Howard Hewett a long long time, along my music trail in gospel (church), I still tuned in to my sweetheart! I believe if you're in music you appreciate it all because God made it all possible. That's word for many who believe there's worldly and there Godly, because He made it all because He created the minds that invented it.
