Part 12: • Too Short on His Consp...
Part 1: • Too Short on Being the...
--------
In this clip, Too Short discusses the impact that urban Bay Area slang has had on the entire nation. Shirley Ju references a track by E-40 and Too Short called "Rapper's Ball" where the two Bay Area natives can be heard using famous isms for the first time in a public setting. Later in the interview, Too Short talks about the life lessons of getting women pregnant as a teenager, enduring miscarriages, witnessing an abortion and the joys of fatherhood. For more scroll up and watch the video.
As the discussion continues, Too Short shares his thoughts on the "We Need to Talk About Cosby" documentary by indicating that the legendary comedian could have avoided the predicament that he wound up in had he known someone with some game--such as himself. Then, Too Short voices his displeasure with Cosby for ridiculing the rap community during the same time that many of his transgressions were said to have taken place.

First of all. Cosby was speaking towards black fathers, generally claiming thy beat their wives, and blaming them for children running around not knowing how to read or write. Berating blk men in a blanket sense. Second of all, what kind of example would he be to be getting hoes high for sex over his life time?

WTF? Cosby played a role to establish a public image. He’s talking down on our lack of values while he’s publicly shaming his family? We don’t have to debate whether what he did constitutes rape or not (btw..if it’s my sister/daughter/mama) - it’s rape). And Cosby’s generation was DEFINITELY tipping! They originated the saying, “Mama’s baby, daddy’s MAYBE.”

He wasn’t “degrading” us, he was trying to keep us from continuing to degrade ourselves. The people who were offended i feel are those who’d rather blame the white man than take accountability for the state of our community.

It’s mind boggling how the “woke folk”just want to skip over the true origin of our current social construct. You do realize we were forced into slavery under threat of terroristic violence - right? You do realize we we’re subject to all forms of sexual violence to include incest (hence the term “motherfxcxer”); to include being sodomized for pleasure and sport; to include intentional maiming (for intimidation) and unintentional maiming as a result of the hyper-inhumane work environment (think heat, lack of nourishment, pestilence, snakes, rats, etc) and intentional maiming with the intent to intimidate. You “woke folk” need to stop gorging on the fried ice cream propaganda that we should “pull ourselves up by our bootstraps!” We were and ARE the target of every inhumane act known to man (including medical experimentation) and our current state is anything but fair. Don’t you see a disparity in the sympathy we are told to feel for the Ukrainian “victims” and the complete lack of consciousness for the victims in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Libya and whatever brown culture they’re yet to rout? WTFU dude and drop the Stephen from Django act. Damn…

The way he went about it was the degrading part. Instead of pulling people aside, he openly degraded them and their craft. There are plenty of people on this platform that have come and had the same story of him degrading them because of how they would structure their acts. I agree blaming the white man for everything is easier than looking inward and taking responsibility, but in this case, short isn’t wrong.

Short my dude marlon from Cleveland was saying shizzles and all that shit back in the 80’s🙄, he used to change every word and made me sick with that shit so no it didn’t all spawn e40! Fun fact years before the west and cube were saying faded I cut hair in Cleveland and would say all the time when I cut and went to people…..I got you faded then y’all out there had a different meaning for faded😒……….just because you say shit around your way and think you’re the originator you’re not, us black people come up with shit all the time that we might not have a platform to circulate it like a celebrity or rapper that may think he’s on to smth new when it’s just being recycled! 👊🏽🤨

I hear what Too Sort is saying about his influence, I also believe some of the influence he is referring to came from Bootsy Collins. Especially when referring to West Coast rappers like Snoop. Listen to Bootsy's "isms" and you'll clearly hear what I'm referring to. This could've influenced Too Short also, maybe on a subconscious level?✌
