A lot of people that snitch and still get a serious sentence is usually because they were the one that did the most serious crimes, didn’t have enough to tell to justify getting a light sentence, or they just told too early or too late. Some people instantly snitch right away before they even get offered a deal, so why would they give you less time when they don’t have to, and when you snitch after other people already snitched in the case, then they don’t really need your testimony anymore anyways, so they only take off a year or two off their sentence. There’s a lot to put into consideration. It really is chess. It’s not just tell on everyone and get released that night.

It's definitely way more nuanced then "snitch and come home" with a million variables for each case. Sometimes the police or DA don't offer you the option to tell on people to wriggle out of a serious jam. Still, if you're on the street committing crimes with people, and you rat them out to save yourself when you get caught, nobody should respect you. You sign up for that life, you have to know jail comes with it at some point, and hurting others and their families to be a rat when it's one's turn in the hot seat is despicable.

The thing about a rico case is, they have to prove youre in a continuing criminal enterprise, meaning a gang that makes money together, so he said yes they are a gang, thats 1 part they need to prove, so yes he snitched.
