part 3: • John Salley: Kobe Ente...
part 1: • John Salley Doubles Do...
----
John Salley shared his thoughts on Jalen Rose telling VladTV that Salley needed to be drug tested for saying that Scottie Pippen is the most skilled NBA player that he ever played against. Salley explained that Jalen is "100% right" in his assessment that John's role as a member of the Detroit Pistons "Bad Boys" is the reason he can't say Jordan is the most skilled. To hear more of his thoughts, hit the above clip.

You youngsters will NEVER understand what it was to root for those Bad Boy Pistons of 1989 and 1990. That team put Detroit, hell MICHIGAN on its back and was representative of an entire people. We love them still... and while we acknowledge he's the GOAT we STILL hate Jordan and he HATES Detroit. Jalen was right.

First we thought the Ohio Flyer was a piss poor replacement for Jordan. Then MJ comes back and we wonder what the hell are they going to do with Harper. The Krause in his brilliance (no sacrasm and in real seriousness) lets BJ Armstrong go and keeps Harper. Harper and MJ backcourt: probably the greatest defensive backcourt.....ever. The defense of the Bulls (espeically the 2nd 3 peat Bulls) was the true reason (more than Jordan's offense or the Triangle) that the Bulls were so unbeatable. They decide to run that trap and they make a 60 win Orlando Magic team that didnt even have Shaq for its first 25 games of the season into am embarrassment that couldnt even bring the ball up halfcourt like what happened when the Magic ran up an 18 point lead in game 2 and pretty much got shut down once the Bulls started to play defense.

Danny Lopez I always acknowledged Pippen but let’s be real Jordan made him who he was. To be real you give Jordan Hakeem and Barkley rockers win the ring with those 3. You give Jordan those teams in Portland they win a ring. Pippen is a second option a 2nd lead player Jordan is a number 1 and the main leader.
@edccs1029
@edccs1029 4 жыл бұрын
Danny Lopez Scottie definitely grew up after the migraine game. His elevation was the game changer to the running of the Bulls. MJ fans keep exaggerating about what he did for Scottie. MJ needed a #2 for him to get championships. Scottie was already confident in himself considering he wanted to be better than MJ when he got to Chicago. People still like to undervalue what Pippen was for Mike.
@Danny_Lopez_
@Danny_Lopez_ 4 жыл бұрын
@@Cfresh84 Jordan was a player that the NBA will never see again. Anyone he would have played with outside the Bulls would have been number two. He would have outshined anyone trying to be number one. Scottie Pippen accepted his role as number two. He didn't try to outshine Jordan, but compliment and assist Jordan. Pippen was respected by his team as a leader when Jordan was too hard on them. Pippen could have been a number one lead player on any other team as he was on the Bulls when Jordan left. Pippen's stats could have been better provided he was the lead player on any other team, but he chose to be Jordan's teammate. It's not fair to judge any player by their stats with Jordan on the team. I believe Pippen was much better than what was displayed with the bulls, but he never had to be 100% with Jordan being who he was.
@wallacepemberton932
@wallacepemberton932 2 жыл бұрын
@@Danny_Lopez_ yep, after Jordan left Pippen led them….to the 2nd round. Btw, his stats didn’t improve much either, look at his 93 stats and compare to his 91 stats. You do know the 2nd year Jordan was out it didn’t look like he was going to lead them to the playoffs at all if Jordan didn’t return. Craig Smith already addressed his other opportunities to be a leader with other super stars and stacked teams…..he failed to give your assumptions any validity. Truth is, if you watched his evolution. Pippen wouldn’t have been the great role player he became if he wasn’t with Jordan, those were the years he put up his best scoring, scoring %’s, rebounds and assist stats.

I remember when I used to watch the Bulls play. I would watch Scotty move like smooth water flowing down a river. He was just a graceful mutha'fucka. Like a Gazelle and shit. Long arms shooting way out or taking it over three or four guys for a monstrous dunk! He was beauty in motion. He would flow thru court traffic while everybody just watched him move..hypnotized by his gracefulness and shit...immobilized dare I say! But Michael Jordan. Staying in the back court, analyzing everything going on. 2 steps ahead of everyone. Players don't realize, Michael didn't beat you. He made you beat yourself. Michael would make players move the way HE wanted them to move, so HE could move to the places he wanted to go,....and that was the difference between the two. Scotty was graceful like the wind, and Michael was like a force of nature that made you bend to his will. (Damn, I just read that back, that was some damn good writing!') Gave myself chills!lol

That play alone shows why Pippen wasn't more skilled than Jordan. He thought about himself instead of the team. An intangible is mental skill. Pippen wasn't mentally mature like Jordan and therefore refusing to go in could have cost them the series! Jordan would have went in and has bypassed and given other teammates the last shot especially if open! This standalone as the dagger as to y Salley theory is incorrect!!!

I would even go as far as to say that with Ron Harper, the Cavaliers could have been what the Bulls were to the NBA. Ron Harper was a legitimate threat to Jordan legacy at that time. Is that the real reason Ron Harper was traded away from the Cavaliers early in his career? Food for thought.
