When my daughter was 3 yrs old, I went to court and obtained legal custody. I was taking my daughter to her mom every single weekend to make sure she got to see her mom and maintain a great relationship. Meanwhile, the whole time there were seeds being planted in her head. At 12 yrs old, it all fell apart. She even told me things that were being said about me and she actually believed them. I sent her back with her mom because she was turning my household upside down with her energy. Now...we barely even have a relationship. A parent that destroys the relationship their child has with the other parent deserves to burn in hell. That's the worse thing a parent can do to a child.

When I got divorced my ex wife told our kids all kinds of stuff and as hard as it was I never said one bad thing about their mom around them and eventually they saw who their mom was and knew Daddy was always gonna be there. I mean there were times I literally thought about killing my ex. I just thought the damage she’s doing is going to be irreversible and it would be better if she was dead, she don’t get to “win”. She don’t get everything I worked my whole life for and my kids. But I held out and things are great now. Didn’t mean to make this about me just wanted to say I’ve been there. If you took care of her she’ll remember and she’ll learn mom is petty and my dad is solid. Good luck brother.

Daughter is 25 now, missed her first 4yrs incarcerated. Since my release in 2003 haven't so much as gotten a traffic ticket, obtained 3 degrees at a CC and been employed. Tried everything within my power to est a relationship with her, paid CS etc, etc been humiliated and disrespected etc, etc. The only time our relationship is encouraged is when her mother relationship with other men fail.i refused to let her mom use my daughter as a carrot to direct my life, as a result she insure I don't have a relationship with my daughter. Just keep your door open and hope she walks through it one day..live your life and do your best to manage the guilt Best of luck
