Royce Reed, former cheerleader for the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat, and mother to Dwight Howard's son, opened up about her upbringing in Orlando, Florida. Royce attributed her strength and resilience to her upbringing in this neighborhood and the desire of her father for her to understand and appreciate both worlds: the white schools she attended and the black community she grew up in. Royce began cheerleading at age nine and dancing at age three, skills that would later afford her a full scholarship to college. During the interview, she detailed her relationship with NBA superstar Dwight Howard and her subsequent pregnancy. Royce opened up about the issues she encountered throughout her relationship with the NBA champion before talking about her time on "Basketball Wives." To hear more, check out the full interview above.

Really? To teach your kids that there is a "both sides" to a world? Your world IS the world. Other neighborhoods are not better than yours, they are different than yours. Indeed, if we didnt harbor this ridiculous idea of the regular (better) world, and the hood (bad world), we could fight for ours and improve our lives. This bullshit comes from all corners, including people like Steve Harvey always talks negatively about where u grew up. It's as if YOUR LEAVING AIN'T PART OF THE PROBLEM!!! In fact, these so called black people spend and invest their money EVERYWHERE but their own communities, then you sit back and make jokes about where you're from. I'll stop now, because I could write all day about this, and if u don't agree with me, Fuck You____I don't want to hear it. Nope, the black community doesn't need anymore fathers like hers, we need thinkers, builders and people who are proud of who they are!

IMO Vlad was establishing despite her father religious belief, at the time Royce was a grown woman. So it was her decision. +Her listening and basically asking permission from her parents yet she had already asked Dwight for $ to terminate isn’t adding up. And real talk, Royce told a different story before. 😬 So that part of the story is starting to change. 😏☕️

Man I remember when I meet Royce and her publicist. We exchanged contacts but i never thought to much of it . I was a police officer when she came to my city! Memphis May was live! Honestly I didn’t know about basketball wives at the time or Dwight 😂 but she was extremely gorgeous.

She did the right thing. $13,000/mo is more than enough for her and her son to live a comfortable lifestyle. I’m 56 years old and retired from the military, work for the federal govt, and receive VA disability, and still don’t make $13,000/mo; but I live a comfortable lifestyle. It’s just as important for him to be involved in his son’s life and be a real father.

I completely understand why she had the conflicting emotions about her pregnancy and wanting the abortion. What I didn't like was the interviewer (unknowingly) shaming her further by saying it was really her choice and she was pregnant from someone not answering her calls.... like none of that was necessary commentary. That happened. Move on to the next question. She doesn't need you telling her what she should have/could have done when you can't understand her upbringing or just not understanding your options.

I've been in the dark when it comes to Royce! Never knew about Dwight, baby or terrible relationship with him! I think that he may have taken the baby and was actually messing with men! She didn't deserve any of this and his punk ass left the show rather than having a second check helping with the baby. It's a good thing for the parents to have been supportive of her cause Dwight was a taker!
