The best scene IMO is When Duck push the guy off the Piano and Eddie Serenaded that chick in the audience. Still get goosebumps off that scene. Any youngins or anyone whos never seen Five Heartbeats go see it as soon as possible and not the TV Version.

The guy that Duck pushed from the piano also played on a episode of Whats Happening! He was Theodore Wilson( Sweet Daddy) bodyguard when they were trying to get raj and rerun to illegally tape the Dobbie Brothers concert!✊🏿🤣. Many people probably didn't recognize him!

Marvin Junior of the Dells said the character Bird being held outside the window was Jackie Wilson in real life when he was confronting his manager Nat Tarnopol. The Dells and Jackie Wilson were both on the Brunswick label and Nat was doing some real shady shit when it came to royalties.

I still can't believe the movie bombed at the box office. All those guys should have gotten all kinds of awards and nominations. it's a forever classic. and the documentary is just as great. still can't believe who was almost cast as Eddie Kane

Finally someone mentioned why the movie bombed. I remember the violence behind New Jack City in theaters as I was not allowed to see The Five Heartbeats because of it. People were afraid to go to the movies during that time.
