Hassan Campbell, who was part of the same projects where Afrika Bambaataa lived, reminisces about his challenging upbringing and his disturbing experiences with being abused. The neighborhood held a strong presence of Latino culture, with Hassan bearing the nickname, Poppy. Hassan describes his family life as dysfunctional, with his mother facing health issues and his father being mostly absent. Hassan recounts horrific incidents of abuse, starting from around the age of five. Notably, he alludes to being assaulted by Afrika Bambaataa, who he met at the age of 12. Bambaataa was a prominent figure in the neighborhood and the founder of Zulu Nation, a hip-hop awareness group.

Watching this video is literally bringing tears to my eyes right now.I'm the same age as Hassan and I've been molested multiple times by different people.The first time I was about 5 years old and molested by my sister's boyfriend.I didn't tell anybody about it until I was about 12 or 13.When I was 13 I also confronted my molester and asked him why did he do that to me, and he denied doing it.I couldn't believe the audacity of him,I said I know what I experienced and I'm not crazy or imagining this.Being molested leaves you mentally scarred for life,I received therapy only about 4 years ago, and it helped, but I wish I would've gotten it a long time ago.

He started singing at a very tender age and once his potential was unearthed, that ushered him into stardom beyond his control and wildest dreams. I wouldn’t say he came from a dysfunctional home though because his parents did inculcate solid values, morals and standards for him along with his other siblings to abide by, but I certainly get where you’re coming from on that side of it nonetheless. I just wish his father didn’t push him in the spotlight so young though because he needed, at the time, to be around children his age where he could bond, socialize, frolic and just unwind as a child with other children. When he became of age, it was just wrong (my opinion) to be hanging with young boys doing odd stuff. Albeit he was exonerated of all wrongdoings, it just didn’t sit right with me in him having them around him, which is why he got himself into trouble in the first place. Rest in peace to him. I respect your take and honesty.

Hass was a grown teenager when Bam did that, he tried to get revenge and kill another victim of Bams who stabbed Bam for trying to touch him, and he went to work security Bam, all while being a grown adult. Bam did what he did to Hass as a teenager and as an adult, and after awhile Hass allowed it and permitted it because Bam would take care of him financially. He only came out on Bam because Bam didn’t want to give him anymore money. Do your homework people!!!
