I gave a very comprehensive explanation as to why being antisemitic (it isn't anti-Semitic, 'Semitic' is not a word and historically has been used as a racial term so try and avoid it please, I've made the same mistakes but my Jewish friends have picked me up on it) is in fact racism, particularly in this context. KZfaq has unfortunately decided to delete it, so I shall give it another go

Hitler, the Nazis and most fascist groups classified/classify the Jews as an inferior and dangerous race of people. The persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany was not based on religion, but based on the belief of a Jewish race. The holocaust was not religious persecution but a racial genocide. Modern antisemitism has become a racist act, because it is rooted in the belief that Jews are a race. Of course, Jews are not a race, but that does not make this antisemitism not racist, seeing as the oppression and hatred is very much based on the belief of race. Sure if we go back hundreds of years, the majority of the persecution of Jews was very religious, coming from Christian churches and the Islamic world, based on the accusation of Jews believing in the wrong god, or being blamed for Jesus' demise. But it is so important to differentiate between this older, religion-based oppression and the modern very much racial hatred we see today, and was seen in Ford's time. I hope that clears up why this antisemitism was indeed racist and continues to be.

Semitic is not about Judaism lol, Semitic is an ethnic group. Lots of Semitic people are Christians and Muslims.

It's hostillity, discrimination or prejudice against a people- the jews- not a religion. The palestinians are also a semitic people, but they don't get associated with anti- semitism.
