Vlissingen (2024) is the second city after Middelburg of the Province of Zeeland in the Netherlands. It is a coastal town with an important harbour. In the 17th century during the Golden Age of the Dutch Republic the city played an important role in the important and export of goods of the New World and South East Asia. Vlissingen is also the birthplace of Admiral Michiel de Ruyter. Some highlights for the city are the city centre with the harbour, the docks and the marina, the St James the Great Church, the Maritime Museum, the Vlissingen Beach, the Skyline of the city with the Sandijn Tower and the boulevard. Vlissingen has a population of 45,000.
