A good friend of mine is a DJ and I built a DJ booth in his house, just in time for his daughter's high school graduation party. It was pretty cool to see them using and enjoying the DJ booth soon after being completed. He gets together with other local DJ's and they use the DJ booth to assemble their mixes. It was not high-end woodworking, but it was one of the most creative and fun projects I have ever done.

segmented bowl? glue up all your off cuts to get a piece of wood big enough to turn? gives an interesting effect. and you could turn a groove into it and inlay a pice of the brass from on of the tubes but cutting it and turning it into strips?
@laurakampf
@laurakampf 8 жыл бұрын
+ghostwalker100 cool idea. but i don´t have the right chuck for bowl turning...i only have the 2 spikes where you wedge stuff inbetween...
@ghostwalker100
@ghostwalker100 8 жыл бұрын
+Laura Kampf it can be done. all you do is carve out a cone, and do all your finishing sanding carefully, and remove the last bit with a chisel on the bench. but if you have a metal lathe easy enough to make a bowl turning face plate. but i think they are cheaper to buy than make a faceplate. i love turning, but not done it in a long time as i don't have the machines and i was happy to do both wood or metal

Hi Laura I use copper pipe when I make lamps on my lathe. You can mount the copper pipe on the lathe and sand it, it takes plenty of time to get it right, then spray it with lacquer. It can look like brass then but a lot cheaper. I also used it to make stretchers for a table in spaulted beech. You can see some of my work on facebook.com/JohnSinclairWoodSculptor

wood and metal, always a very exciting prospect indeed. Rilo Kiley seems very fine, 'll dive into it .I learned English when I was 7-10 years old listening to Fleetwood Mac for hours, so that's always a must-check recommandation. By the way, one song I think is an absolute tribute to Fleetwood Mac's 1977-1982 glory days is "Amazing" by Madonna (yep). The arrangement of drums, guitars and backing vocals are spot on Mac, wrapped in William Orbit fizzle... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z9Ckmbtpu9nGfJc.html Keep on trucking ! (from France)
