Jake, more videos of your personal tanks. It’s cool to listen to you talk about them because you have a lot of passion. It doesn’t matter what we think of your systems; they are yours. It’s all about the joy that they bring to you, and it’s cool that you share it with us. By the way, that Montipora on the left is gorgeous. It has such a great growth-pattern, and I love the coloration. How do you keep the, what I assume to be, acrylic structure that supports it so clean and free of coralline and other algae?
@ReefBuildersVideo5 жыл бұрын
That was a corona bottle I'd cut into a tall glass, and since the monti cap shades the whole thing, very little grows on it.

@mnelson100005 жыл бұрын
Tank looks great! I had a heck of a time keeping alk up on my 180 too. I wasn't following why you ditched the kalk? If you went back to kalk and swapped the buffer with alk, it would be much easier I'd think.

Hello congratulations for your aquarium ,,, what measures do you have and what equations do you use in your reef?
@hightidecorals79415 жыл бұрын
i think low perams are completely fine if its a slow decline and not a sudden drop, corals learn to accept their living conditions and thrive if its stable, you may get slightly slower growth but i'm not somebody who constantly chases growth, i strive for colour and polyp extension. with that being said, when you do a water change, do you see any negative side effects with the elevated DKH? most common salts mix anywhere from 8-12 and your DKH being mid 4s, depending on the volume of water change would cause a swing?

could i ask you about your wavemaker and return flow placement/ schedule? I have a 60 gal cube with a 660gph eCurrent nano and a QPS-5 from coralbox (1300gph max) as wavemakers and a 500gph return. I am finding my front left corner of the tank is an extreme hotspot for flow and I am just curious if you could give me a suggestion on how to even the flow throughout the tank. also its a mixed reef.

I used to have a buncha Montezuma swords back in the day, and I currently have some neat cories, especially love my Peru Bondi I got at the Wet Spot in person. How do you like the Milwaukee pH, ORP and temp monitor? Seems like a great addition for a massive fish only I am working on. Can’t bring myself to get a controller when all I think I would ever do is use it as a monitor.
@ReefBuildersVideo5 жыл бұрын
Exactly, Exactly, EXACTLY! I love it because it's very accurate, it does one job and does it well. There's a control unti that comes with this one but I never hooked it up for pH or temp control.

Gouge then, crush them, glue them but easiest to ‘frag’ them off with cutters.
