You know what's worse than having no money? Having just enough to stay alive. It puts you in a rut and ruins your life.

Hi Harmonic Series - yep. I agree. And that's why I try to argue for the importance of making decisions and living with the consequences of our choices. It is important students think about this before they even think about starting a PhD. Txxx

@@officeofgraduateresearchfl9343 That's always important. I wonder if by changing the choices offered to the students, decision-makers in higher levels could reduce the rate of overtime PhDs. For example, offering fewer scholarships but higher-paid ones with milestone requirements that are more strict.
