This is a long awaited video I have been waiting to release, here we have one of Morelands new Volvo Gen6 SPORT SL220s that will be replacing the old batches of the Iveco Acco SPAK Raptor 3s that have been sticking by Moreland City Council for years. Now it's time for them to slowly withdraw the ever popular Euro 5 Acco SPAK 3s from regular collections and put it up for sale.
Moreland had these Volvos sitting the yard for a fair bit preparing for collection back in late September, then seeing the new truck 9 going back to the yard made me smile back in October 2021. To see the photo of the new truck 9, it is on my Flickr page linked in the description.
Today we see 1 of the few new Volvo Buchers that do the Tight access garbage. From now, there won't be any single axle trucks doing the tight access, now it's the 22m3 trucks doing it with runners in the trucks, putting an end to single axle trucks in Moreland. I have a video of the new truck 11 doing the tight access recycling that will be uploaded in the future.
Many of the old accos are now spares that have been replaced unfortunately, the green waste trucks at the time had no replacements, the old 7 is a spare which was a recycling raptor. Moreland has still kept garbage as Bucher, Recycling (with the exception of truck 11 and 14) and green waste for raptors which I am yet to film.
The signage on these new trucks aren't too bad, many preferred the old ones more as Volvo isn't faved by many garbo enthusiasts nowadays. I seem to have a good reputation over these new Volvo Gen6s, they aren't at all that bad as I thought they would be.
The reason behind the short video is that the driver didn't want to be filmed for too long, so I decided to grab a 2 minute video of the truck and let him go, I was even lucky enough for him to grab a hopper cam footage of the inside of the truck! Sorry for the very long description, you don't have to read it all!
