I have the same issue with costume jewelry. It's usually because we are allergic to the nickel component in the metals. I like to coat Neosporin or bacitracin to the stud of the earring before wearing. This method almost eliminates the irritation. Try it and let me know if it works for you too!

A tip for your fashio jewelry pieces, you can bring to any goldsmiths and ask then to do yellow or white gold plated only the needle pointy part ( don't know in english 😓) I have the same problem them my friend who owns a Jewelry store told me. It works 👍
