Togakushi is definitely on my top list of places to visit.
Especially in the winter where the majestic trees which lead to the shrine is covered with snow.
Feels like you've been transported to another realm. Surreal. 😊😊

How long was the walk

It took us around an hour plus from the togakushi chu sha to the oku sha due to the snow. 🙌 recommend going earlier before the sun sets.

Was this round trip or one way up 1hr plus. Would this be okay for young children to walk up from the 3rd shrine to the cedar trees. ( if we parked at the 3rd shrine)

An hour plus one way. It’s possible but I would recommend having more leeway with time. Since it’s winter and the trail is full of snow. Just make sure to check the weather forecast as well.
