Jess I’m definitely one who became a consistent watcher because I find you to be very relatable BUT also your beautiful spirit and sense of humor. However, I think it’s nothing wrong with you wanting to evolve and grow within your career. For me personally, I don’t watch influencers that ONLY highlight/showcase luxury things. While there isn’t anything wrong with that, I think we all have different meaning of success. So while some may identify success as material items others may see success as getting married, buying a home, being a stay at home wife,etc. So naturally, I think we are all watching what we relate to or aspire to have. I think sometimes, SOME influencers heck not just influencers but ppl in general, become defined by the material things, so it’s comes off as they lose a sense of who they are so it’s extremely hard to relate to them or watch. The first vlogger who comes to mind who I feel does a great job with remaining true to herself is Nitraab! Ive been watching her for years and she def be serving us with the luxury items and sponsored content but she still has the same sweet spirit from years ago and I love that for her! With that being said, I don’t see you losing who Jess is at the core! Me and so many others got your back no matter what direction you decide to go in! My suggestion is that you pray on it, decide who you want your target audience to be, and do what feel authentic to YOU! Then go from there. I’m such a simple girl pretty much a homebody! So I love watching vlogs from creators who are chill, relatable and don’t do too too much. Like I’m attracted to personalities when I’m finding different creators videos to watch. I did start watching your videos when it was all about the natural hair but that was because I was also getting into my natural hair and how to maintain it and things like that but now since I don’t really do much with my natural hair anymore (nor watch that particular type of content) I am still able to watch your content because of the vlogs you post. Honestly I personally prefer the more down to earth vlogers bc that’s where me and a lot of people are at in life and more than anything I think we want to feel a sense of connection with our fav influencers. One of the few bougie influencers I follow is Arnell Armon but it’s bc even tho she’s making so much money and living in a expensive apartment in L.A she still is able to connect to us as viewers. She talks about her recent break ups and relationships. She took us through a pregnancy with a man that she ending up breaking up with right after giving birth leaving her a baby mama. These are stuff that we all go through weather we have money or not. But a lot of bougie influencers just try to show this dream of something you may never have and it ends up feeling kinda empty. Loveeee your content! I enjoyed the topic on being relatable. Honestly it reminds me of that saying “everything that glitters aint gold”. Not to say those influencers arent living the life but some of those high paying companies may not align with the beliefs of your faith & that can be a hard pill to swallow. Especially since many influencers live life based on their will and maybe not God’s (only he know) its easy for many to just thank you God but not really say “is this opportunity God sent”. I don’t know if I can pinpoint exactly why but I do know that when I see those videos of people having these very exclusive, one-of-a-kind experiences I tend to scroll past them and move onto someone I feel like I could be cool with in real life.
