Quick and easy Mod to my ALICE PACK .I saw a video on adding pouches to your alice Pack. Saved some money and bought 2 x 200 round SAW utility pouches and added them to my Pack. Needed the extra room.

You can mount a hydration bladder in the open space of the frame between the pack and your back.

You might check into the 2 quart collapsible canteen, one on each side on the webbing just above your sleep system.

sustainment pouches are adjustable and would fit where the 2 pouches are.

2 quart canteen are made to be attached to the low webbing on these packs. Usually in military use you would have a 2qt canteen and cover in your left arm side with the strap wrapped around the whole thing back to the other side of the canteen pouch which gives you the ability to take in the pack and on the right side low webbing you would have your E tool.

Re: more water. You could carry some empty platypus water bags while on the trail to be filled when you're at camp. Lightweight while empty and they don't take up a lot of room. Using a Sawyer filter and gravity to purify water at camp is easy. Maybe this is what you're looking for??

David Wlasitz hi David. First thanks for watching and commenting. I have a Katadyn befree water purification kit. Works great.Also a seperate bigger Katerdyne bottle that folds up small.

If the med. Alice pack is not big enuff to carry what you need you could always go with a large over the med. About the water issue. Going to a large size would help with that however water weight is something you need to watch as it builds up fast. If you wish to keep the current pack but add in more water might I sugest a klean kanteen stainless steel bottle and a water bottle carry bag. You can attach it to where you added one of the small ammo bags and move something from your bag to behind the bag. (Between you and the frame). You have a good bit of extra room there you could put tarps, pads, and so on. Basicly anything that can be made flat. If you really want to get a lot of extra water you could always put a 3 leader camel back water pack between you and the frame of the alice pack.

About the water: During a Yule gift exchange, I ended up with a 64 ounce flask due to my penchant for a good whisky. As it turns out, it fits comfortably in the radio pocket of the ALICE while keeping the extra weight near the body to help with a more balanced load. So, even though it was meant to be a novelty item, it serves a different (but useful) purpose if I want to carry more water. For all concerned: 64 ounces = 1.89 liters P.S. Please balance the volume of your intro & end music with the narrative closer to each other. Thank you! 😎

Look into using a Dromedary bag MSR makes one a heavy-duty version and a lightweight one they old anywhere from 3 to 10 L lightweight and sturdy just a suggestion

My pack is entirely modular. Ive got some Alice saw pouches for more storage, some extra canteens for more water storage, and if i need to i can switch out to a couple of molle hydration pouches for more water or general storage.

I live in the Sonoran desert and I know what you mean about packing in water. If you are using containers to pack stuff in, ditch them. Look into ziplock bags for your items and see if you can squeeze 2-1 gallon water jugs at the bottom of your ruck. There also 2 gallon collapsable canteens that you can look into.There are other ways you can pack your sleep systems and you can utilize the space between your frame and waist pad to fit a camel back.
