Welcome to week 1 of Vlogmas! I started opening up my advent calendars, worked on some knitting and cross stitch projects and flew to chicago and then drove to Indiana to visit my inlaws. I also did a random get ready with me for a holiday party, hope you enjoy!

Hi. For blocking look into a folding bucket, like a mop bucket. The bucket folds fat for storage. Mine is big enough for a sweater vs using a bath tub or sink

I’m continually amazed at the numerous projects you have completed this year! Add to that your regular FlossTube videos and now the jumbo holiday Vlogmas. You are either sleeping too little or I am sleeping too much. Great video for the first week of vlogmas. With all your knitting projects you may need to start looking for property and jobs in Alaska. I hope the kitties were safe I have heard mixed reviews about rover and so far have been to leary to leave my golden with anyone I don't know.

Morning Elizabeth, watching you from the UK and loving it! I am fascinated with your knitting. I cannot knit! I spent many years watching my mother knit, but she always used the wool straight off the ball and never blocked anything (which explains the ever growing cable knit sweater) I love watching you, have a wonderful Christmas x

I hope you enjoyed the Midwest as a change of pace for Christmas. Hopefully the cooler temps and "flatter accents" gave you a different, more exotic :) sense of place. I grew up there and we used to go every Christmas. Seeing you visit and fly into Chicago made me feel nostalgic for Christmas there. I knew what the air felt like. Sounds funny, I know. Thanks for sharing.

Your Christmas tree makes the room look so cozy! Love the Colors in the boyfriends scarf. That is a beautiful pattern. Thanks for displaying each days yarn. Day 4 the pink yarn is my favorite so far. Enjoyed seeing the Christmas Decorations in Indiana!

Wonderful vlogmas Liz, per usual. Definitely going to that yarn shop. Thank you for sharing their info. It gets cold in the winter where I live so mittens and a headband are my one skein go to. Sometimes shorty socks or a cowl. Looking forward to your next episode. Happy holidays.

That's crazy....I was born in on 31 Hwy in between Berrian Springs and Niles Michigan.........I went to St. Mary's in Southbend, Indiana... ...there's a crochet and knitting night in Southbend ...yarn looks amazing....thanks for sharing...have fun..

Such a fun video. I used to knit before I went back to cross stitching. I would buy a lot of one skeins and would make pretty neck scarves. Here in Maryland we have cold winters so scarves came in hand when wearing sweaters or a blouse that needed something up around the neck and shoulders. Your knitting is beautiful. Hope you enjoyed your trip.

I know you said you’d never done a vlog off the cuff. But you did awesome. I loved watching you knitting. I have never been able to get coordinated enough. I do cross stitch, crocheting, needlepoint and quilting. Love the yarn you have been getting. Maybe I should try knitting again! Hope you enjoyed your vacation.

So enjoyed your Vlogmas - I’ve never knitted anything but I’ve been watching you and Crazy Sock Lady’s Vlogmas and I might be falling down the rabbit hole of knitting socks - in love with the variegated yarns. Not sure if I should do a hat or socks first….Did I mention that I’ve never knitted 😆. Anyway your scarf turned out so pretty. Thanks for showing the blocking process- all good info for this newbie. I’ve only crocheted & blocked granny squares. Looking forward to your next Vlogmas. Hope you’re feeling better!

Last year my sister asked me to join her in Florida for a week right before Christmas. I was so happy to do it but it super stressed me out. On top of that there was a huge snowstorm the day of my departure and a huge snowstorm the day of my arrival. How we made it make to Montreal I'll never know. All that to say, I hear you Liz. Travelling during the holiday season and having to work is a high stress situation. Your scarf is fantastic. The colors are so so pretty. What fun to wear a homemade sweater in a yarn shop and what a shop that was. I am slightly envious. 😁 I really enjoyed this first week of vlogmas. Thanks for doing it.

Thanks for showing how you block a scarf! I wasn’t sure how that was done and found this very helpful! Where do you get the lavender wash that you use? If you said where, I missed it! Off topic. Have you watched Fibers and floss Canada floss tube? She’s new. I just watched her first one put up a month ago. She had quite a bit of knitting at the end of this floss tube. She had some amazing yarn to show. Some black light yarn! I’ve never heard of that. This may be old news to you but thought I’d mention it. I don’t even knit! Ha! Ha! Anyway always fun to see what is available in another country.
