How old is the moon, really? Listen to the end and you'll find out from John Russell.
On today's podcast, Dan Novak and Ashley Thompson host the show while Dan tells listeners what they are going to hear.
01:06 First, Greg Stachel has a report about low water levels and dry conditions in northern Brazil in an area where two of the world's largest rivers meet.
05:28 Then, Gena Bennett has a report about how German businesses are using more robots because of a labor shortage. Workers and labor unions are not objecting to increased use of robots as a way to ease the labor shortage in the country.
11:56 Then, on the Education Report, Dan has a report about concerns in the field of mathematics about chatbots. The concern is that chatbots threaten math learning. Currently, math scores in the U.S. are at their lowest levels in many years. But some teachers defend using artificial intelligence powered chatbots. They consider the applications just another tool for teaching math or computer code. That is followed by Dan and Jill Robbins talk about the word "tedious" and how difficult it is to do repetitive tasks. Then, a promotional message for Let's Learn English with Anna, VOA Learning English's children's program.
21:20 Then on the Lesson of the Day, John Russell presents a report by Bryan Lynn about a discovery that the moon is older than had been believed. Bryan's story deals with a recent study that looked at moon minerals. John asks the audience to listen for the word "conclusive." They John explains the uses and development of the word. After that, Dan and Ashley sign off.

4:02, 'the municipality will complete the first transport its to all rural communities next week. I'm an intermediate English learner. Would you mind if I ask you a question? I feel it'd need certain preposition before the word 'next week'(during/within/by the middle of/by the end of/etc) in order to clarify the time, would this be my (non-native's) feeling? Would it be common with no preposition?

No preposition is used with last, next, yesterday, today or tomorrow. I'll see you again next Wednesday. Sue came to see me last week. What did you do yesterday? They're going to the airport tomorrow.

@@voalearningenglish Thank you for your reply comment. Our indigenous people are too punctual to accept the time not having clarified the deadline, for example, (by the middle of next week/at the beginning of next week). The inflexibility about time would be somewhat stubborn.(We should need consideration)
