Look at Taylor swift’s sho had a 10 year career! Or Taylor Swift or Beyoncé. Those are The biggest artist of example who may get the longest today. With today’s society if you make it more than past two years then you make it. Today’s generation people move onto the next so fast because people get bored. With Maria and Whitney they had longevity meaning they lasted more than 10 years more of 30 years it would be Lucky for today’s artist to last at least 10 years which did Taylor Beyoncé for example. So I get it the times have changed and we have to except it and I wish people knew the artist back then before autotune was created and today’s generation just doesn’t live up to it but we have to except it and I feel lucky that I lived in the time where I got to be raised during a generation of Maria and Whitney. Even though these people don’t see it I got to live it but at the same time if you see so many interviews they respect it.Mariah is more of a legend and a bigger celebrity then today’s artist so in some sense they do get it

But the first time that i heard Whitney/Mariah i realized that they are Legends and their legacies will live forever. And you are right. She got all of that from her cousin Dionne Warwick. If you look at live videos of DW in her youth(the 60s) you will see the same vocal/performance qualities and at many times the two have a uncanny similarity, that is DEFINITELY her cousin.
