This amazingly talented child also sings opera, or rather the puppet does, and she has another puppet that yodels. This kid is going to be very big in entertainment. The beauty is at her age she is fearless and is happy to tackle anything.

Terry Fator won season two of A.G.T. he is also a singing ventriloquist. He makes 100 million dollars a year in Las Vegas. This is where this little girl, Darci Lynne is headed. It's called talent! Pure talent! Plus she has only been doing this for two years!

Darci is incredible. You should see Petunia, the bunny, sing opera. It's amazing how talented Darci is after performing ventriloquism for only three years. I love her puppet, Edna Doorknocker, who serenaded Simon during one of her AGT performances. It was fun to see Simon's face turn red with embarrassment. Darci has a wicked sense of humor and it's hard to believe she once was incredibly shy.

Closing my mouth more was probably the best tip I learned from you. I honestly couldn't believe how much more consistent I could sing that way and how much more control I had, especially over going from low to high or high to low. That and using more horizontal mouth opening. I feel like I have a bit more control over tone too now.

I think you are right on with the closed mouth thing. Darcie's voice is so strong she does better with her mouth mostly closed. She is amazing.

there were some very talented singers on that series year, but she was just as talented singing, and was doing multiple puppets who were singing, while doing better ventriloquism than most other ventriloquists. all at 13 iirc she and the little girl who got second were to do the winner's prize shows together.

I am late to the game here and love the reactions of vocal coaches to these performances since you have an ear for the techniques. Another person I would love to hear you react to is Angelica Hale. She came in 2nd place to Darci on the 2017 season of AGT. She was 9/10 at the time. Most people react to her original audition of Rise Up or her golden buzzer song of Girl on Fire but I think her best one of the season was her interpretation of Clarity. She changed it from an EDM to a ballad song. Also, if you want to react to something more updated, I really highly recommend her Stone Cold cover as I feel it's her best one so far. I hope you react to it. Thanks for your time and reactions.

One other thing, I noticed that Kirstin Maldando from Pentatonix does a lot of horizontal mouthing on certain notes. It looks almost like she is try to stretch her mouth sideways. And Darci is going to be on the Pentatonix Christmas Special, Nov 27. I am going to check it out.

I have a question. You say that it is important to sing with your mouth closed to avoid any fluctuations in your vowel formation, which makes sense, but wouldn't you want to have your mouth open (and held in a consistent position) so that you can avoid having a 'tangy' voice (as in having 'wide' vowels instead of 'tall' vowels?) I personally have only learned vocals for singing in a choir, but I love your comments and insights in pop singing and wanted to understand.
