In my opinion David Phelps is set apart from everyone else. His talent is simply divine - absolute perfection.

He was at our church tonight. He did this song. We, the choir, had the privilege of singing with him. He's amazing. God given voice!

I have seen David 10 times live in concert, most from the first or second row...in my mind, he is the best male vocalist on the planet and it's not even close. What makes him so endearing aside from his talent is his humble demeanor. A wonderful guy....I have met him several times and have been to his "Barn Bash" twice. Immense talent mixed with a humble and gracious spirit...that's David Phelps.

Beautiful to see a Christian brother enjoying the raw talent of another Christian brother.

That last note! David has a gift from God.

His singing is even more than the sheer beauty and artistry of his voice. He does believe every word he sings, and often when he finishes a beautiful and powerful song like that, it seems hard for him to let go of the worship and rejoin people on stage.

Ken, I am so pleased you did this reaction video of one of my all time favorite singers. David definitely delivers the message and emotion when he sings! This song has a special meaning for me, as my mother developed Parkinson's disease with dementia. As she gradually lost touch with reality, the one thing she always responded to was music. We played David Phelps and the Gaither Homecoming, and she would sometimes try to sing along. Now that she is with Her Savior, the tears flow every time I hear this song, because I know she is experiencing this! No more night, no more pain! God Bless, and keep rocking for Jesus!

I’ve heard it in person and I’ve been to so many concerts for all types of music and I’m not lying when I say it was the best vocal performance I’ve ever witnessed. Blew me away

Glad to see David on here. I did a musical with him last year and he's an incredibly nice guy with a phenomenal voice and stage presence.

My favorite response of yours is when you say he lives what he sings. This is the ultimate compliment for a Christian performer and very true of David. He believes with all his heart every word he sings. I could tell you were touched by God by David's singing Ken. Hold on to that feeling. It is an awesome one.

You just can't help but being completely in the moment with David while he is gracing your ears and soul with his "presence' - IMHO 🇺🇸👏💜

You quickly get the sense he is an extremely confident singer and person. He knows all too well he is great, but doesn't come off cocky.

David is one of the all time best tenors to grace the planet whether Christian or secular. Tone, range, control, delivery, breath control, vibrato, falsetto, you name it and David easily nails it. An amazingly anointed voice that gives chills. God bless him. And BTW Ken, I listened to your albums in my youth especially "An Axe to Grind"! That album played repeatedly man!!! I saw him live a few years ago. He sang every bit of his heart and soul out for 2 hours them came out and stood in line for every single person to meet him and speak to him for a min. You could see he was absolutely spent and could tell he had been drenched in sweat. You were absolutely right when you said he lives what he's singing. Classically trained in opera, writer, producer.... Simply the best male vocalist alive today in my opinion.

David Phelps has always been an excellent singer, and I think performing largely in gospel circles has heightened that “sensitivity” you talked about. It has helped develop him into a singer that strikes the perfect balance between technical proficiency and emotional accessibility. The “sensitivity” and “living what he’s singing” you mentioned and the technical choices he makes make his already beautiful tone so emotionally satisfying to hear. It’s fun seeing others have the same reaction to him. I get goosebumps every time.

I believe we are hard pressed to find a more prolific vocalist anywhere. I could listen to him for days, he is truly truly amazing!

I started my vocal experience singing in church from a very early age. Even though I’m classically trained, gospel is still my first love. I’ve been telling everyone who will listen for years and years, that IMHO opinion David is one of THE best mail vocalists alive on the planet today! I loved watching your reaction!!

I'm a believer...To hear from a vocal coach that the singer lives what he sings is the best of the evaluation in a christian context!The technique and the management of the rest of the performance is all more because the talent recieved from God meets man's preparation...I advise you to listen to him too End of the beginning (live) or I'm coming home without making an evaluation video for us.God bless you and greetings from Italy! :-)
