Vocal Coach Reaction to Dimash Kudaibergen - Sinful Passion - Ken Tamplin
Dimash is certainly setting the bar VERY high in the world of singing.
After my doing my first "a vocal coach reacts to Dimash" video, I got a TON of requests to do his song "Sinful Passion."
I have got to give this guy 2 thumbs way up!
His technical skills, his passion, his control, his pitch, his rage, his emotion, his ability to go from low chest, through the passaggio into head and even whistle registers, his use of good vowel modifications, his different timbres between registrations, switch from covered operatic vowels and then opening them up to gain range for more contemporary vowels. Just really good stuff.
SOOOO refreshing to hear talent again, rather than another Britney.
Take a listen, I think you will agree.
I look forward to hearing more from Dimash!

After having seen a ton of vocal coaches react to Dimash, this guy is the first one I've seen that seamlessly steps into the Dimash realm and actually replicates some of the tones and pitches he does. Of course it had to be a good old rock'n'roll looking dude to be able to pull it off ;)

Actually, Ken Tampling was the lead singer and guitar player of a famous Christian rock band formed in the 80s (more specifically, gram metal rock) that's why his vocal range. Most of rock singers have spectacular voices, reaching super high notes as well as low notes, falsetto, etc. I'm not much knowledgeable in music or vocals, but most of my knowledge comes from watching Ken.

The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental Arab technique, is a funeral lament, paying homage to the dead vocalist! Bright! The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio. The dead singer left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebyev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.

@@danielterres957 No shit it's whistle register. You can't go into the 7th or 8th octave without hitting whistle. That like saying "you can't sing a bass note unless you singer lower than a C3". You're stating the obvious but criticizing? Makes no sense. His limit isn't E6 or F6 if he literally hits whistle notes in the 7th and 8th octave regularly.

He was offered a position with the 5th largest opera house in the world and turned them down. He said he wanted to have fun with music and his voice. Opera, popera, folk, pop, rap, traditional...he puts everything into the mix. How he can go high to low and do all these techniques in them is fantastic. What a lot of reactors miss here due to unfotunate timing of pausing is that last phrase was all carried through in a single breath. The chest, into insane head, dropping into a lengthy melisma all in a single one-breath vocal phrase. I doubt there is a known vocalist alive who could pul that kinda feat off. I hadn't heard of this guy until tonight and now I'm glad I have. It's refreshing to see a young face with such raw talent and ability. The kinda thing doesn't exist in contemporary music nowadays.

Hi Ken....About Dimash....he started taking singing lessons and piano when he was five. He is 24 years old now and if you watch and you should The I am singer show 2017 from China you will be mind blown. Dimash was 22 on this show...The first song w/ be SOS in French...the second is Opera 2 in Russian etc. Dimash plays the drums, the piano and the Dombra ( a Kazakh lute instrument w/ two strings.) He will play this in his song Dadidau. This is a Kazakh song . Dimash was a wild card on the singer show which had only famous singers competing against each other and no one thought he would get through. So happens that he won first place with the first song he sang...SOS. He came in second on the show but, he is known around the world now....over 100 countries. Dimash had a concert in London recently and people from over 40 countries came to see him. That is the Love for Dimash from us Dears ( what Dimash calls us..his fans ) peace and Love Ken...DKIFC/USA liked and subscribed to your channel and can't wait to see more reactions to this talented young man. Thank You

if you just count chest and head voice register it is like 4 octaves. that's the same than Ken voice range. and counting whistle register it goes up to 6 octaves. but some people don't consider whistle register part of the voice because it is desconected of chest and head.

You are the best teacher / vocal coach of them all because you not only explain the technique but you can hit almost every note dimash hits. Awesome!!! This song is in Russian, composer Igor Krutoy. Read the translation of the lyrics from the song. Such a beautiful meaning 😍 I am glad that I live on this planet at a time when such a singer sings in my language. I do not live in vain. All of our pop variety art does not know how to sing. And Dimash is a singer from God. By the way, you also have a beautiful strong voice!)
