I’m hoping to persuade you to react to the original of this song sung by Lata Mangeshkar from the movie ‘Anpadh’. Shreya is great , but Lata is the original diva. By the way, lata sang that song exactly 60 years ago………..it’s a masterpiece !

You should definitely react to : Man Kunto Maula by Abi Sampa. It's a absolutely brilliant, sung by Abi based in London with nice deep vocals. The genre of music is different to indian music, it's a qwalli which so many people love and are entranced by. Hopefully you will like it

they deviated from actual song, and had somw duo competition went for a while with ragas , then came to actual raga then she pickup from there. she too deviated from actual song, listen to original movie came. this is new version made on stage with spot improvisation.

Berklee dabbles in experimental music a lot, and it shows in piece too - in comparison with the original, this one has Berklee's stamp on it. Its a shame Indian music is so underrated, even in "reaction" videos like this one, because what is totally missed are the lyrics, which is a masterpiece by itself. Urdu is such an expressive language with at least 5 words for every 1 in English for every emotion. I would translate this song for you, but the beauty and compactness of the language would be lost.

Sometimes the Americans call it Scatting ! Ouch ! This is just one difference in Western and Indian classical music. There are many many more differences. Shreya is singing one of Lata's songs. She is very very good for *this piece* but not excellent - not close to how Lata captures the emotions of this composition. Listen to Shreya sing her own songs - she is fantastic/brilliant esp in the Live singing (e.g. Sun Raha Hai Rozana). For this particular song it is too difficult not to compare with the original by Lata for the vocals. The musicians are excellent and improvise brilliantly - I listen to this particular piece for the musicians rather than Shreya. For Lata listen to songs composed by Madan mohan (Nainon Mein Badra Chhaye OR zara si aahat hoti hai ) or those composed by her brother (see the album Lekin) - unfortunately not many live recordings of Lata.

After watching multiple reaction videos, here’s my reaction. It annoys me to no end when the person who is reacting says I don’t anything about the singer or I don’t the language and can’t understand this beautiful song. Well, put in some research work before you post your videos. Google is good resource. So, research the singer. Look for the English translation of the lyrics. With this preliminary work, you can post some intelligent reaction videos than putting out stupid face reaction videos.
