Just played Dan's latest Metal Guys play "My Heart Will Go On" and it would have melted the friken iceberg. I love this beautiful duet with Minneva. Dan as always does a spectacular job.

I love how Dan never overpowers his duet partner, although he easily could. Such a gentleman!!!!

Minniva suffered burnout for a while after they recorded this, she is back as strong and as gorgeous as ever.. I love the way she and Dan meld their voices, truly lovely... Oh and yes I caught the new video just as it dropped.. awesome comes to mind... no longer a tear jerker but a new metal anthem.. and no not a typo just pre-emptive is all.. Dan has known Minniva for years from 2016 when he was the lead singer for Orion's Rein and Minima would be a guest singer. He is holding back because this is Minniva's channel and he is supporting her instead of taking the lead. I don't know how she pronounces her name and have heard reviewers say it at least 3 different ways.

Minniva sounds like the biblical city of Nineveh, according to her pronunciation in a question answer session on her website. She sings like a Disney Princess.

Dan recorded his part of the song a couple of years ago and he didn’t mix this track. I enjoyed this cover but like you I thought the orchestration was a little bit overpowering. Their voices blended very well for the harmonies and Minniva has a beautiful voice. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and maybe you could comment on Dan’s new song which dropped about an hour ago. 🎶✨🌟✨🎶

Thanks for your reaction Ken. This video was produced by Minniva so she had control over the music and editing. Yes, the music was a little too much over the voices, but still a beautiful rendition. I also think it was recorded several years ago, but not sure. Always a pleasure to hear your analysis. Looking forward to hearing your opinion on Dan's newest one. He certainly doesn't sing it like Celine Dion, as you can imagine.

You may remember Minniva from her duet with Dan at Christmas time. They sang Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. She had dark hair then.

Minniva and Dan were in a metal band called Orion’s Reign together for a couple years. She is Norwegian and she and Dan did a few Christmas duets together as well. Thank you Ken! Always enjoy your commentary!

Thanks for this reaction - I believe that Dan's portion was recorded possibly 3 years ago, based on the lighting he's using. He's done some other songs with Minniva, as well. They do blend well together. Since you mentioned Celine Dion, hoping for a reaction from you to his cover of "My Heart Will Go On" 🤞

The two harmonize so perfectly together! There is also a gorgeous song on the record "Scores Of War" by ORION'S REIGN: 'Nostos'. Only Miniva can be seen in the video, but Dan's voice is unmistakable. He was the singer on this record. Minniva has also done a lot of great cover songs, it's really worth discovering her KZfaq channel. Oh yes, they also did two funny Christmas songs together with ORION'S REIGN. 😁 And there's a Dan Vasc version of 'Thunderstruck' and ORION'S REIGN (with accompanying video) on their KZfaq channel, as well as a NIGHTWISH cover of 'Élan' from 2015.

Thank you for your good reaction to an impressive duet from Minniva and Dan. The voices harmonized very well with each other. On Minniva's channel you could read that it is already 2 years old, but could only be finished now due to her burnout. I share your impression that the music was a bit too loud in relation to the singing.

Dan didn't unleash his flame thrower? How did he hold it back? I'd guess that it took all his willpower to "not" launch into a rocket engine, souring flight into the high heavens. He kept his rocket ship on the launch pad. That is WILD!!!

2/7/2024 Hi Kevin, Thank you for this video. Where did you find it, because this is not on his videocannel. Dan sang several Christmas duets with Minniva when he was the leadsinger of the metalband Orion's Reing. You can also find the video's on their site. Album Scores of War was released in 2018 and received good reviews from professionals. I think Dan had already left the band by then, but you do recognize his voice on the album. Nice to find Dan's work in unexpected corners that can not be seen on his KZfaq channel. I love this style you review now very much but it don't give me the power that his metal does. Dan definitly sparked my love for the powermetal. And I dit not expectad that on my 62. What Dan does touches my soul. Thank you so much for the review and I can't wait for you to review My heart will go on. 😊😊😊😊

I checked, and you haven't reacted to Dan's previous release of this song, with Alina Lesnik. It's very different. I would say I'm torn between the two, but really, I'm not. They are simply two different takes on the same story. With the earlier one (6 years ago) with Alina, there's much more equality in the song, and it's (basically, I think...just my own thoughts) a more professional and strong arrangement, MUSICALLY. With this one (that was actually recorded two years ago, then Minniva (and you're saying her name correctly) had a pretty bad breakdown, from what she and others have said, and she never got the track completed. You may have heard her and Dan singing "together" with Orion's Reign, if you reacted to some of their Christmas music (I haven't checked to see, and I saw SO many Christmas song reactions that I can't remember, off-hand). They never. They were good, but even then (before Dan finally decided he couldn't do all of what he wanted with his own channel, while still singing with Orion's Reign, and so he quit), I felt like he either was feeling a little bit in extra awe of Minniva, or he wasn't quite sure HOW to blend with her voice, but that really doesn't seem likely. On this one, now, there's still just a tad of that hesitancy, BUT...I really feel like it was intentional in this one, because of the actual STORY of that part in the movie. It felt, to me, that Dan was playing the part of the beast wondering if he should even BE in the presence of the beauty. Maybe he should ROAR, and be the dominating personage...or...maybe he should tone himself down and be the real person that he is, underneath. Then once they begin to indicate to each other that they actually share the tale, from both of their lives, things musically begin to even out, with the beast actually paying homage to the bravery and quality of the beauty, as the bit of hopelessness fades out to a tentative boldness, himself. I don't think THAT take would have worked with Alina, at all. On the other hand, perhaps a BIT more attentiveness and "brightness" could have been taken away from the Alina arrangement, and transferred to the Minniva arrangement. There again, though...thankfully I/we don't have to choose between the two presentations! I honestly love seeing and hearing Dan be everything he CAN be, which is an almost blinding array sometimes! Thanks for the really nice reaction, Ken. 😀
