One of my favourite performances by Dimash. No vocal acrobatics; just doing the song and its composer justice. And what a great piano accompaniment (especially the last chord).

This is Dimash's latest rendition of this song. The 1st was when he was much younger , he asked the gentle man on screen for permission to sing it. On listening to his version, he was given permission and got a standing ovation from the professor rftr performing it on stage.. From that time the proffessor and Dimash became life long friends, & as u say the professor became one of Dimash's teachers. The proffessor, asked Dimash to sing this song as a tribute to him, if he should die from covid - which he did. So this rendition IS that tribute to his very dear friend. The emotion is so deeply palpable, and anyone who has had a deep loss I am sure both loves this performance but is also heartbroken too. I find it impossible not to listen to it. My son was killed in an industrial accident at 19, it is very cathartic and heart felt.💔❤

Thank you Eduardo. This is so emotional and personal to Dimash. Dimash 1st performed this for him at 19yrs. old. This performance is a tribute to the composer who is pictured in the back. He passed away from Covid in July 2020. He was a teacher/mentor/friend to Dimash and his family.

I cry every time I hear this song. It’s the saddest I’ve seen Dimash. He sang this song in 2016. So different than this version. He died from COVID and it really shows in this dedicated song. Thank you for the rain stick. 😊🎵🎼🎤🎶🎹

Originally the song was about the farther giving the way to his daughter for the marriage but in Dimash interpretation this song became the story of the son who is giving the way to his farther who passed away. Indeed his mentor and university teacher passed away due to the C19 and he is shown in this video. This is cry song that very common during the funerals in Kazakhstan.
