Don’t know where to begin with Sam Cooke. He had the most distinctive, effortless, crystal tinged with smoke vocal. He started out with the Soul Stirrers singing gospel of course, and during his too short life covered many genres. It’s sad that most people only know his more popular hits, because he recorded so many songs, of so many genres. And, he recordings are timeless. He had a wonderful less is more approach. His voice is never overridden by backup singers, thank god. I’m just always dumbfounded at the lack of visual footage of this legend. Suggestions…. Gosh I have lists….Drifting Blues; These Foolish Things; I Lost Everything (well, the entire NightBeat album😂); Grandfathers Clock; A Change Is Gonna Come; Along The Navajo Trail; Accentuate The Positive; You’re Nobody Till Somebody Loves You; Don’t Cry On My Shoulder…and that’s not even touching on the early gospel with The Soul Stirrers

Ken, thank you for what you do. I am not a singer but I thoroughly enjoy watching your content. Some songs I don't like, but a lot of them I do. Wasn't sure what to expect on this one, but damn this man could sing. I probably would have never heard this if I wasn't subscribed to your channel.

Hi Ken! Mr Sam Cooke 's voice is the mirror image of the sweetness. I think now it's the time to concretely break that wall of ice with this title of this quiet man "i was born by the river". No snoozing! One has to take the advantage. Thank you Ken. Be blessed.

Just letting you know... Voiceplay released their new video on Patreon Monday a week ago and should be released on KZfaq soon. "Valhalla Calling". Sequel to My Mother Told Me. They released a "teaser" shorts video on Tuesday last week. It is epic. Geoff Castellucci released his new video on Patreon this morning. 5 Geoff multiplicity singing a country song. And we get to see Geoff do something he's never done before. It will be premiered on KZfaq April 14th.

You should react to the band ONE OK ROCK and their song "We Are" live at the Japan dome Ambitions tour. Their front man Taka is certainly an amazing singer, but you end up connecting with him in a way that you feel every emotion he is as he sings.

Ken, can you please react to a Vince Gill performance? He did a cover of “Warmth of the Sun” by The Beach Boys and it’s just the most beautiful thing. I’m dying to hear a vocal coach analyze it.
