She's incredible. The only other suggestion I'd make is that her posture (hunched over, high shoulders) is probably making the vocal production harder than it needs to be. It's hard when we really feel the music, and our body wants to do certain things that feel true to its emotional content, but sometimes those things are counterproductive to our sound.

I would be the worst student for you. First of all I’m 60 + and second of all I never found a way to make time to do the exercises regularly. But I have to say that your way of dissecting and explaining each side of singing, already improved the way I sing and made me find in myself abilities I never knew were available. I know I improved cuz my kids told me, so that you know I’m not making this up 😂Cheryl, you’re amazing 😍

And my question is: can someone learn how to do this type of melisma from scratch? She might be able to belt but I don't think this is the right song for her. She has a pure tone, not very suitable for this type of songs. There are some powerful moments but Some of the rounds were just there for the rounds, the timing of those rounds makes me feel disconnected, it has to come from the soul, from the heart. She can not think before doing those rounds.
