“That auto-tune sound” is actually Nico’s real voice he’s actually a great singer he may have a soft tone use in the bridges but that’s all him no auto tune

He is a good singer but still could be using auto-tune live. It's really hard to hear the difference.

@@anonymerNameAlla The whole point of auto tune is to lock the pitch to the “correct” note. Obviously you can’t be both locked to a particular pitch and also slide off that pitch.

You should definitely look at "Saltatio Mortis"! They did a cover version of this but their music is great in general.

Hi Beth! The band officially changed their name to Electric Callboy last week. To really hear the quality of Nico and Kevin's voices, check out Prism, live acoustic. These guys write great songs, and Nico's voice reminds me a bit (just a.bit...) of a young Chester Bennington (RIP) of Linkin Park. I totally agree with you...more kindness is needed in the world...and it's totally free!

the controversial about their name was really just an american thing, in germany that was never really an issue because it wasn't seen as offensive here and from them also never meant that way.

@@clintmcintosh2154 i didn't generalize anything, but it was an issue that came up first in america, due to the woke bullshit bubble that many americans live in. I never said that all americans are like this - but the way how you immediately take offense about some comment like that shows perfectly the snowflake society that america currently has.

I don't mind them changing their name, it's their name. However, the people who get offended by that stuff never forgive. I'm all for kindness and forgiveness, but I've noticed the offended people will never be nice once offended.

Love their mash up of 80's EDM and metalcore which we call partycore. Music video's are even better because they parody is even more evident . Love the 80's chorography at the end. Now we need We got the Moves and Pump It. Always find what people are offended by tells me more about them then what they are offended by.

Beth you're so sweet how could anyone ever hate you? Who would be against the world being a nicer place. I don't think the band was intentionally trying to offend anyone. However changing their name makes sense. I think the new name Electric Callboy works very well with their style. They have an 80's vibe that's so much fun.

Re the controversy. That people change their behaviour, remove old stuff others might deem offensive that they thought was a laugh, that's personal growth. As Beth says, it's not easy, it should be respected.

I like that they were willing to say that they as Germans didn't know enough about the name Eskimo, so they reached out to first nation tribes and historians to try and better understand. Then with that new info they decided to make the band name change.

Absolutely! As a German who has been aware of the racist overtone of the term "eskimo" even before I became aware of this band about ten years ago, I really appreciate that they're open to criticism, discussion and eventually learning from their mistakes. Same with their more controversial songs. For the longest time I couldn't warm up to them because of some songs and their name but their adult and honest way of dealing with their past really makes me respect them a lot. Now they're one of those bands that I can fully support and that makes me enjoy their great music even more.

Sadly the answer they got from the actual first nation peoples was that it was not offensive toward them and still had to change due to some white middle aged virtue signalers that make it a point to be offended by everything... Them being willing to make the change was the real awesome part and is what should be celebrated instead of the fake offense part.

saw these guys live at Slamdunk fest last week, they are absolutely mental. thought of them as a bit of a ridiculous parody band before but they genuinely put on a great live show.

@@Marissa_Amalia If you don't want to be mean, then don't write mean things. ;-) I also like this music a lot better than what was chosen to be the German act for ESC2022, and I don't think Germany will make it to the first half of the field, but I still fully support the German artist. We might like other music better, but he is putting also a lot of effort in it and does not deserve to go home with 0 points.

There is easycore that mixes pop punk with metal which is close to what you're asking for in this video. Older A Day to Remember or Chunk! No, Captain Chunk for a more modern example.

They were not chosen to participate in Germany's ESC pre-selection. The reason being that the music is "not suitable for radio".

I‘ll have to disagree: They do put a lot of humor into many songs but overall they‘re a serious (especially when it comes to skills, professionalism & quality) metal-/party-core band. Still, when you look at e.g. Hypa Hypa, We Got The Moves and Pump It!, I totally understand that classification. Just remember that there are also songs like Prism, Crystals, Nice Boi and Love/Hate. 😉

Which is it, should we not take things seriously or should the band change their name because people take them too seriously? Personally, I try to take little seriously in life. I think it is a good way to live, but your little sidebar, of being too serious countered that point, you made later in the video. People only get offended when they take life too seriously.
