What is so special about her is, that she uses her incredible versatility, to color up her vocals with so much emotion. Every performance she did on this show, is really good. Many different genres and she nails it every time. She calls herself a vocal nerd and loves to learn new styles and techniques.All of them profound, or even masterful. In my opinion, there can't be more than a hand full of singers right now, who can keep up with her, male, or female.

So this was from Beste Zangers 2019. It is a Dutch Television show. It is unlike our American competition type shows. Basically they get a group of Dutch singers and take them to an island paradise for a couple of weeks where they hang out and get to know each other. At night one person will be the "focus" and sit on the middle couch with the host. The other singers will all sing a song to that person. on the last day they pair up and do some duets. I believe this was on the Spanish Island Ibiza and they are outdoors in what is basically a tent, hence the crickets.

the show she's on is called Beste Zangers. the format is very interesting you take 7 artists. from other sides of the music spectrum. you put them together in a holiday park and record 8 programs one for each artist and a duets program. each artist makes a list in advance where the others have to choose a song to sing. the list you make is usually meaningful. and the song that is sung is often meaningful for the singer who does it in that program. there is a small joking element of competition but completely arbitrary. incidentally, Beste Zangers both means the best singer and dear singer.

Really enjoyed your expertise from your comments. My recommendations to professional vocal coaches might be somewhat different from the other commentators. I agree with the Ghost Love Score Nightwish Live recommendations, but would trend more toward some of the other Beste Zangers solos for the rest. The difficulty for you in reviewing Beste Zangers is that each separate episode was designed to highlight a different aspect of Floor's voice, so no one episode has them all -- that's why so many people recommend Nightwish's "Ghost Love Score" -- it comes closest to having her using multiple different singing techniques. For belting, if you want to discuss that technique, I would recommend "Que se Siente" off Beste Zangers; for her opera chops, "Phantom of the Opera" with Henk Poort (formerly the male tenor in the actual production of this opera in Europe) would be best; and for the technique you were focusing on here -- very soft with some breath added -- her recently released solo for the charity, supporting child victims in war-torn regions, "De Beelden Blijven", would be my choice. For floor's versatility and artistry Shallow is an example of relatively small, breathy. Much of her work is a mix of high belt, easy switch to head-voice/falsetto and even growls. Since you guys are in Hollywood and obviously rub shoulders with the movie crowd, could you imagine Floor with her impressive voice and size playing a Disney evil queen or something we have never seen, a Star Wars female Sith Lord?
