I don’t think So Hyang has ever failed at hitting notes this high in a chest mix. You were talking about a C6 as if it’s an impossible note to mix, but So Hyang can soar right past that up to a C#6. And her C#6 is entirely supported and sung with a balanced mix too, not even a remotely heady mix. I think you’ll come to realize that So Hyang’s favorite note is a mixed Bb5 because she hits them all the time and she does so like they’re nothing, and she never messes up because her tessitura is so high and her technique is flawless. You should check out “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “Everyone” next.

SoHyang once gave lectures at one of the main Korean Music University, still time to time does lectures on stage presence and fear management as a vocalist. Actually this is second time watching this video, I have to say this is like ONLY 35% of SoHyang's full performance. I've never commented before, but I really love your in-depth reactions to So Hyang. They're very informative and helpful when I want to understand a vocal technique. And with Lean on Me, in a lot of her live performances, she goes up to a B5 instead of the Bb5 in the I Am Singer performance. Maybe you could react to one of those eventually.

I almost feel a bit guilty that I've only just discovered this lovely woman. She sings every single syllable like it's her last one ever. And while I really admire her devotion to her faith, I can't help but feel a little bitter that we'll never get an album from her.
