People always are amazed at Felix's vocals. He has an amazing range and duality and there are many videos just on Felix's voice including from vocal coaches. He has the deepest voice in k-pop but he can go higher ranges too. What has most people amazed at this live performance for a reality competition is the 2nd singing idol Han who reaches the highest vocals is one of their main rappers. This performance are from the reality show called Kingdom Legendary War and had 6 kpop male groups competing to crown kings. The performance are all live and epic. Not your normal live stage performances. It was a 10 episode with 3 rounds of performances plus 3 live collab group performance

Felix's voice is really very low. He has incredible control over it, you can see it if you watch other performances.

- The "crazy growl" guy always uses that kind of wet fry; it's the signature sound of his rap style. He's also a very talented vocalist (all eight members both sing and rap _very_ well). - Nope, that low voice while being dragged was live. When this first released, I commended both him and the previous singer who was singing high while lying on his back (I'm not bothering with names; you don't know them) for performing so well in those positions -- I've done that live too, and it's HARD. So I understand why you question it. But no, the performance is a live competition and he is absolutely singing live. He has excellent vocal control, especially in the lower end of his range, and that part isn't a strain for him; this isn't a case of someone who can _just_ hit that part in optimal conditions and who is now past his limits when trying to perform it in a difficult position. That's a perfectly normal, functional range for him. Also keep in mind that, as idols, they're required to train to maintain vocal stability while being physically active, so he has an advantage over a stand-and-sing vocalist. - The manipulated vocal drop section was deliberate, btw. The producer who handles this aspect of their music plays a lot with effects and makes very purposeful choices. That moment in the story, the voice is _meant_ to not sound human -- they just made a deal with a demon/the devil/the dark side, and the creature's voice is reciting the terms of their blood pact. So this isn't a fail or purely just an "eh, that happens when you manipulate it that way," but rather an effect that was deliberately used without any attempt to disguise or lessen it. I can't tell from your comment whether you grasped that aspect of the effects choice there, so I might as well clarify just in case.

Felix is actually a black belt in Taekwondo which is why he is able to do crazy stunts such as being dragged on the floor but still sounding perfect and yes that's his real voice and he wasn't lip syncing

The demon like part definitely was a sound track but, I'm telling you the guy with the lower really has deeper voice especially when he performs, it took me like a month to have it settle in😂 I think its live but maybe a low backing to it since it's a huge stage

I’ll Be Your Man by Stray Kids is my favorite performance they’ve ever done. Can you believe they scored the lowest in that round? Neither could we. I think it was mostly because I.N’s voice cracked in the end. Poor kid cried because he was so disappointed in himself. It was pretty heartbreaking. Thanks for doing this one! loved this!!!! believe it or not, the deep voice guy (Felix) just sounds like that. he talks that deep, and he also raps that deep even while doing incredibly intense choreography. in this song he’s rapping pretty slowly and rhythmically and even though he’s being dragged it’s definitely not difficult for him to perform that part live. also, stray kids always performs live, they literally refuse to lip sync like they won’t.

Felix with his deep voice and an angel face, Changbin the rapper that growls, the velvet voice that Seugmin has, NI (I don't know how to describe it may be a kind of metallic sound), Han, a rapper that sings high notes and Bang Chan harmonizing everything. How Jenna explained below there is no lip syncing. They always perform live. Stray Kids is a great group.

This performance was performed live and in ONE take. On a competition show called Kingdom Legendary War where K-pop male groups (6) competed against each other every week to show who was crowned king of the show and stray kids won. The show was airing for 3 months straight.

Kingdom was hell for stays but we and skz did our best. This performance means so much to me. Every performance was live. The deep voice is natural and LIVE.

He genuinely just is that good. I fully understand why you'd think that wasn't live though, it's truly insane. But his voice is naturally that deep

I like your comments, very specific and useful about the vocal technique. Thanks for posting this! In response to your lip sync comment--you were talking about Felix, whose voice is so bizarrely low ("the Mariana Trench of Kpop voices") that he is not even near the bottom of his range in this performance; this is actually quite a comfortable vocal placement for him. For comparison, watch "The (Unofficial) Deep Voice Line of Kpop" by Sunshine Lix; it's got several short clips of him speaking and rapping comfortably much lower than this. So while for most this would be so low in their range that it would be difficult to sing live while doing active choreo, that is not necessarily true for Felix. On top of that, Felix is known for his acrobatics and energetic dancing. Being dragged on his back is pretty much one step above resting in bed for him. There are two specific ways you can tell Felix isn't lip syncing while being dragged on his back. One is that if you listen well, you can hear how those abdominal crunches he does at the beginning of his segment affect his delivery--listen particularly as he's saying "24/7". There is a slight change in rhythm as the breath is pushed out by the crunch, and in vocal quality, a very slight sense of constriction or thickening from the effort and the lack of abdominal space. He uses this quality dramatically so instead of standing out as a problem, it becomes part of the acting, and is easy to overlook, but I doubt he'd do it by choice if he were singing a track to lip sync to; it's not a sound you'd actively seek out. The second way to tell he's singing live is that Felix is actually not always fabulous at lip syncing even under controlled conditions (you can see this in a couple of the video clips from "Deep Voice Line"). In this performance, his voice and mouth seem perfectly synced, which would probably be as hard to do while crunching and being dragged and breaking chains, as just doing the singing in the first place. Especially given that these guys practice singing while running on treadmills and dancing like, what, 5 hours a day? Or whatever these insanely talented, ambitious and perfectionist kids do. I'm assuming you know that Skz and a lot of Kpop and hip hop groups frequently use autotune and various vocal distortion devices as an artistic choice, as they did here when you were talking about dropping the voice an octave.They are actively looking for the distortion and sound quality effects it brings; no one is supposed to believe that this is the real voice of the person singing, it's way too obvious. If you'd like to hear Felix' singing voice, check out "Winter Falls", a more low key melodic song--he's got some sing/rapping at about the 1:30 mark and nice deep singing at 2:30. "24 to 25" also has a very brief section of him singing high in his range--is it his falsetto?--around the 1:30 mark, and some deeper singing later in the song. (He does lip sync well in those two videos). I'd love to hear your reaction to both those songs by the way, as they are showing off the singing vocal qualities of all the Skz members. And finally, if you haven't yet done so, check out the Mayfly "Love Poem" vocal performance from Kingdom. It has become kind of legendary in it's own right lately.

Stray Kids also does everything live and Felixs voice is that deep. fun fact Changbin the guy who was rapping likes to go out of his way to speed up his rap so he's off beat to show off that he is not lip syncing. lip syncing is a bit of a Nono these guys train years to perfect their trade

Nope skz always performs real with little to no back track. This was also in original key. Felix the deep voiced one really sang that part while sliding. Stray kids is one of the groups that are a true force of vocal,dance, and charisma.

this was actually my favorite stage of skz on Kingdom but sadly they ranked in the last place. this brought a new side of skz by singing ballad with some theatrical performances. glad they paid off everything by winning the competition

The hole song was a cover of "ill be your man" by BTOB, it had a little bit of backup song in one part, but everything was singed life, the part when you say a guy was doing lip sing because the note was low, his voice is like that, if you listen to other of their songs it has the same low notes

At the beginning of the song, the first singer was Seungmin, he is the main vocalist for Stray Kids, however, the second singer, his name is Jisung, but on stage he goes by his last name, Han. The thing about Han is that he isn't a singer first, he is actually a sub vocalist, in the group Changbin, the rapper that growled and Han are the two main rappers. Yep Han is a rapper first. This was one the first tomes that he took lead as a singer and not a rapper. Felix, the young man that was dragged across the floor rapping. First off, that is his natural voice. He has had that voice since debut...even before that. He was born and raised in Australia, the reason why u can hear the accent. Oh and one more thing. Yes it was live. For this program, all the idol groups had to sing and rap and preform live. You should check out more preformances from this show. Oh wait, please check out ATEEZ (group name) and the preformance is "Answer/Ode To Joy." I don't think this will disappoint you, and this one is live as well

The guy being dragged has an even deeper voice actually (like he can reach deeper) and all those guys keep up the perfect pitch during even faster choreographies - they’ve literally been training half their lives to do that and not get out of breath.. they’ve been accused of lip syncing (especially when they rap during high stamina choreographies) and at several occasions they just paused on purpose with the singing or hit random notes on their instruments to prove they are actually always singing live That’s KPop and idol training for you However the training and their schedules are hard so their health usually isn’t great and just earlier this year an idol from a different group selfunalived so as impressive as the skills are - I don’t recommend the training it needs to get there…

I am a stay and I agree, Felix part on the floor was lipsynced. You couldn’t hear any mouth pops, breath or brush against mic. His mic was so low over the backing track, that you couldn’t hear his actual voice in that part. But I get it, because it is way too hard to sing while sliding across the floor (since it is even hard to sing while just lying down and not moving) 😭 I am sad seeing so many Stay blindly saying that Felix „definitely did that live“ when it is obvious to anyone knowing singing and how stage tech/performances and mic feedback as well as singing etc works, that it just can’t be live. The register is too low to sing while being dragged, while here it still sounds 100% studio ready. Stray Kids is my favorite K-Pop group & I know Felix has a magnificent voice (which he does show in other live performances that are actually live on his parts) 🥰 Bang Chan (the leader) said as well in a livestream, how they sometimes for certain performances need to use backtracks on some parts, because the dance or performance is just too hard to manage while singing 100% live & it’s completely understandable 🖤 Even more impressive are the ones they do sing completely live! ☺️ This one is still one of my faves, the whole story build up and everything - very impressive ✨

You gotta love these kids. They’re just pure talents and it’s just not a compliment, it’s a fact. Each one of them has special distinct vocal strength and they use every bit of it to make unique crafts. These kids not only one of the best performers, but they also produce their own beats and lyrics, even the whole storyline/ concept in every performance.

To all the people in the comments saying that felix's voice is just that deep and that it's not lipsynced, YES, felix's voice is naturally extremely deep but what we as the listener can hear from his part in this performance is absolutely almost completely studio recorded vocals, as is often the case with felix live. Maybe it's because it's harder to project at such a deep register, but just like in this performance, felix IS absolutely singing, or rapping in this case, but his live vocals are so far back in the mix that you can barely hear them, and what we actually hear most of is the studio recorded vocals, which isn't a bad thing! we know that's what his natural voice sounds like, but like Adam says, it's very difficult to have such clean and uninterrupted vocals when being dragged in that position, and when the final part of his line is also whispered it's not gonna have the desired effect without the help of the studio recorded vocals backing him up live. so saying that felix was lipsyncing isn't taking away from what his natural voice can do, it's really just a technical observation which also, most importantly, doesn't take away from the quality of the performance.

It’s so weird seeing someone introduced to StrayKids like this. First, the second singer is normally a rapper, so him singing is always a treat. Second, the one sliding on the floor could sound like that doing backflips. His voice is naturally really low. And he can go much lower and much higher. The reason this is so theatrical is that this performance is from Kingdom: Legendary War, a 6 group competition show where they performed songs (their own, other people’s, performed together as units, etc) in epic performances. Ateez was also in the competition. You should check out the Love Poem performance which features StrayKids’ Seungmin, Ateez’s Jongho, and BTOB’s Eunkwang (BTOB are the original singers of this song that SKZ performed). Also, check out the Ode to Joy and Wonderland performances by Ateez. For more StrayKids, I really recommend the series The First Take, which is a Japanese online series where artists perform live in one take. So you really see their live vocals. StrayKids and TXT have both been on it multiple times and the performances are great. You get to see their vocals individually.
