All of the people in the video are part of the LGBTQ+ community and they recorded this song after the Orlando Pulse night club shooting. Just a beautiful and powerful video and rendition of this song.

Another Superfruit video I'd be interested in your reaction to is their "Defying Gravity" from "Wicked"... it's more them having fun with it than being totally serious, but Mitch especially pretty much nails it.

It's a continuous take, live, so to speak, of a very difficult song to perform either live or acapella, let alone both. Kiiara's original was obviously subject to significant studio chopping, remixing, etc, which makes the PTX cover even more amazing when you compare it to the original.

It doesn't matter how many times I hear this version of this song it always brings a tear to my eye.

A little background. Superfruit started in 2013 as a KZfaq video channel for Scott Hoying (tall blonde) and Mitch Grassi (short brunette with the outrageous range) to vlog and have some fun separate from their Pentatonix work. They occasionally did musical episodes, often with friends, especially after the first year. Rise was a project with their LGBTQ+ friends as a response to the divisive political climate in 2016.Also in 2016 Scott and Mitch started working on a album as Superfruit. Released in two halves in 2017, every track on the album had an accompanying music video. In 2018 they went on a small tour during a break in their Pentatonix duties.

I am in love how you just explain something and then show us in the video so you drew our attention to that worse or better thing you hear because you are trained, but we are not and I am actually happy when I actually notice what you hear :-)

Superfruit was a separate channel formed by Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi, both of Pentatonix. Scott is the blonde lyric baritone; Mitch is the counter tenor - his range is 6 octaves plus one whole note. Mostly they just goofed around on Superfruit, but this song is deadly serious, as you already know. Superfruit posted its final video on February 14, 2019. One small quibble; they did have piano backup on this song. It was not a capella, though the piano dropped out before the end.

Knowing now that Mitch was either going through cancer treatments then or had gone through them really makes this song even more significant in my opinion. I did not know until recently that that was why he had lost so much weight and had to shave his head or lost his hair. He’s always been beautiful and his strength throughout his battle is really amazing.

Mitch, from Pentatonix is an amazing Countertenor. He's done some awesome work with Pentatonix. As we slowly head into the festive season, one of my Xmas staples is their rendition of, "Carol of the Bells". Mitch is excellent in it.

I'd LOVE to see your reaction to Scott Hoying and Mario Jose singing "Lost On You". It's a gorgeous and super powerful cover, that contains a lot of passion as well, since it is sung to a Hans Zimmer soundtrack (which I find is a super interesting choice and also absolutely stunning). Plus, from what the video looks like, I believe it is live, so I feel like there's a lot for you to observe.

With the ending on the "s" and not hearing the "sss" is something I remember my highschool concert choir teacher always pushed on that and I remember that well. Granted there were around 30-35 people in the class (freshman to senior mixed). And we all had to land on a singular "s" for competitions. :3 good times none the less, albiet difficult lol.

I would really enjoy it if you react to one of their live performances of "Aha!" at the Star Vista in Singapore. It was recorded by a fan with some sort of hand held camera, and the audio isn't studio great or anything, but you get a real sense of PTXs ability live and you can hear Avi's low register and Mitch's high register.
