I think he has really blossomed since he came to Sweden ❤️ The video you saw was the live performance from Sweden’s Song Contest. There was NO AUDIENCE at this live broadcast. You are correct that “Tusse” came as a lonely child from Congo when he was 8 years old, he escaped from the wars. Lives with a Swedish family since then. Lost his parents during his travels to Sweden. We are very happy to have him represent our country in Eurovision. I interpret the lyrics as the people that are stuck in the war zone still 😰

Great video! HE wasn't my personal favourite to respresent us when I first heard all the songs on the studio version, but the song is definitely a grower and what really sells it for me is his amazing voice and charisma! I'm actually glad he'll represent us! Been loving your Eurovision series so far, greetings from Sweden :)

I thought the idea of Voices was to hear the voices of people that are usually kept quiet, listen to people who are suffering. But I guess it can have other meanings as well.

@@kristoferstuff i think what he means is that sometimes an entry is so explicitly meaningful that the lyrics become preachy....although eurovision generally gives us quite a lot of these 😂

@@kristoferstuff for example in terms of songs discussing being young, 'sober' by lorde tackles it in a much deeper and tactful way than 'we are young' by fun.

@@kristoferstuff When the words used in a song are basic and rythmes are cliche while the song touches sensitive subjects it can come off as funny if lucky, or even offensive if unlucky. Fortunately for Tusse I do not think that song touches anything meaningful. What is this song about? About voices that deserve to be heard? Which voices? All voices? Is it the voices of German far-right or is ut the voice of some Russian babushka? We do not know, therefore the song is about nothing.

The Swedish televote gave this song 96 points. In our national selection points are divided between ages to get a song with more general appeal. He received 12 points from each age group. You pronounced Tusse right. Oh, and he is a guy which I noticed you mixed up some times.

Melofestivalen this year had alot of interesting entries but "Voices" has one of the best vocals without a doubt. Plus he is just 19 y/o which is incredible

Thanks Georgina for sharing your comments - I have to agree with you - the lyrics doesn’t grab me - although Tusses vocal abilities are really beautiful and the whole production with the lights and dancers is just spot on. I believe it will qualify to the finals and probably be among top 10 - but this years winner - I can’t not see that to happen Anyhow - Best of luck Tusse ⭐️

There is a point to voices in the Rain, go out and let it Rain. The voices of those who have no voice,/are not heard, are in the rain. So go out and let it rain, hear them, listen to them.

I have followed Tusse since he competed in Swedish Idol. His performances there were always really good, even though he often did not think so himself. He is very musically talented and has a great voice. I do think Voices is a beautiful song and that he did a great performance. When I watched Tusse's performance with my mom the first time we were a bit surprised by the choice of song though. It almost felt like the song was too "small" for a powerful vocalist like him. It did not feel like he could show of his talent enough trough the song and it might have to do with the lyrics. The song has a great message, but it is a bit repetitive and does not give him the opportunity to show more of his vocal abilities. During the time he had some problems with his voice (some medical stuff) and for some time they were worried he would not be able to compete in Eurovision at all.

Honestly this is what i have to expect from Sweden. Talented singing, great production and simple lyrics It is really just super safe. It just come across as boring to me. so even though the song can get stuck in my head do I get less real enjoyment from it would have done if it then many other songs that are all around bad. Because this is boring. like for example lets say you don't like Norway's song. you will still remember it 5 years ago from just a image because of the angels. okay now i will watch the video and get my opinions altered slightly

I actually thought they were ok but not amazing. There were moments when the breath control wasn’t great and also the pitching didn’t match the prerecord they were clearly singing over.

I'm Swedish and you're a 100% right, when some Swedish go English in the national Melodifestivalen, the lyrics can be hilarious and not on pupose😂 Just listen to the the lyrics of ABBA - absolute cringeworthy at times😬😀 Tusse is a kid doing his last year of A levels, he's from a very traditional part of Sweden - Dalarna. Maybe he won't win but I'm sure he will enjoy himself and he is supported unanimously by everyone in Sweden - Tusse was the best of all of them, the right song won.

They had so many good entries in their national final. This is pleasant but not as impactful as some would have been I think the lyrics have something to do tih BLM movement. He has just black dancers and he is a refugee from Congo

Love this performance and also the song ☺️ The song is a grower. Didn't like it that much at first. He is fantastic and only 19 years old. Fun facts, one of the dancers is Zara Larssons boyfriend Lamin 😀 and Tusse won Swedish Idol in 2020.

He has a nice voice, but the song sounds very generic. The lyrics remind me of Polina's song "A Million Voices", which represented Russia some years ago and finished 2nd. Very similar lyrics and similar message... in her song, it was "A million voices singing out", here it's "A million voices calling out", etc. Not very original...

The androgynous look presented, makes it irrelevant what gender you think they are. The song is bland, but because it's Sweden, many think it's marvellous. Mid-table at best - if it qualifies.

It saddens me that everyone comments on the lyrics for Sweden, even though it's not THAT bad and has really good meaning to it (I'm pretty sure it's kind of a black anthem as well as a ''forget the haters" thing). Yet no one comments on San Marino, whose lyrics are so much worse and don't seem to mean anything at all.

It’s a shame that you seem so focused on the lyric when I thought you were a vocal coach and it just feels petty to keep commenting on the lyrics when it’s surely the singing that matters most? Did not like this reaction at all
