This is Layne's arrangement. Thinking inside the box. Was so fun watching them building this giant music box set. Rachel as the Swedish Nightengale, then, of course, the shortest person, Eli as the Giant on stilts, Cesar as the Trapeze flyer, Geoff as the Strongman, and of course Layne as the Ringmaster. I think my favorite part is when they all get to do a little beatboxing and Geoffs This is the Greatest Show.

Layne was actually the baritone of the group when Scott Porter was their beatboxer. You see him sing occasionally, I remember he had a line in "My Mother Told Me" and another in "Hoist the Colors". I think that Eli and Cesar did really well with their parts, and Rachel is always a pleasure to hear and see!

Layne also does more singing in If I Were a Rich Man/Girl. And has been mentioned, Geoff's Shenandoah is absolutey beautiful. INcidentally, hat "Me" is sung exactly the same way by the original singer.

One of the unexpected benefits of being a member of the Patreon community is that they usually also publish the karaoke track. And it’s not what I would think a karaoke track would be but then again I don’t do karaoke. But it’s everybody except the soloist. And it is fascinating to hear the background and you think I don’t know if I like that. But then they put it with the soloist and it is amazing. After watching several reactors like you and a few others especially those who point out the backgrounds, I’ve gone back and listened to as many of the karaoke tracks as I could find and I have a whole new appreciation for what they do. I highly recommend it - the best five dollar a month investment I’ve made in years!

I totally agree! I love this perk and have started going back and listening to the karaoke tracks. Also, I checked your video list and didn't see that you'd reacted to VP's Hoist the Colours. And you absolutely should... it is EPIC. It broke several reactors when it came out. Eli basically lives on a C5, Cesar is awesome, and Geoff is... well, Geoff. It's the whole package: lighting, set, costumes and makeup, paired with incredible vocals arranged by Geoff.

The “mi” ... “may” is actually done in the original, so Rachel chooses to sing it the same way it was sung there 😊 (except in the original the second me was more towards the “may” sound as well, I think?). Really nice that you did this!

VoicePlay just keeps getting better and better. There is a video out featuring Keala Settle that is from the workshop done to get the green light from producers to make this movie. It is a once in a lifetime experience they had. It's well worth the watch. Layne has some things he's done by himself and with his daughters on his Facebook page. Geoff's new solo is so beautiful and tear jerking--he really hits you in the feels with it.

Great reaction Jenn ! Don't really follow this wonderful group ; But they are fabulous acapella quintet ! I listened to Pentatonix quite a bit but these singers are so very good ! I really love their arrangements and vocal harmonies and intervals throughout the song ! It's always changing and keep you really listening and involved in the song ! There is so much going on all the time that there isn't any time to hear their unique vocal inflections and nuances that are happening all the time ! I'm amazed that you can process and breakdown their vocal techniques quickly ! But this is the only way you can do it by listening to each section and breaking down their voices ! Especially when you're listening to five different voices! I personally think this is a fantastic rendition and it's so uplifting and fun to listen to ! Rachel is such a fabulous singer and I love Geoff's ridiculous lows ! I can see why you like to react to them because there is so much to talk about ! Visual I thought the video was so beautifully produced ! I will now go back and look at your other reactions to them they have got my attention for sure ! Can you imagine them in a Broadway musical play performing ! That would be a treat for sure !I just listened to the song complete and uninterrupted and it's a vocal acapella masterpiece ! I can imagine the time and effort needed to produce and to put this performance together ! As always it starts with great voices ! Thanks Jenn as always for the breakdown and reaction as it was so much appreciated ! Keep posting ! 🤗👍🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️
