I love this reaction! I believe that Layne (the beatboxer) is taking the bass line while Geoff is singing in the beginning. When the beatboxing starts, Geoff takes back the bass lines. And yes, Geoff does readings of literature on his channel here. He just did The Legend of Sleepy Hollow!

For Halloween Geoff did a cover of Jack's LAMENT from The Nightmare Before Christmas and the vocal acrobatics he does are amazing.

Geoff does some narration this time of year. I know he's got The Raven, The Tell-Tale Heart, The Masque of the Red Death, Legend of Sleepy Hollow and more. Feel better!

Layne (beatboxer) is taking a lot of the bass line in the beginning, he and Geoff switch off when he is featured. The rest of it to my knowledge is Geoff doubled, though ya never know, Layne, J and Eli can sing bass. Layne has reached A0 with the use of a beatbox technique. In the beginning, the BGVs in that choral portion (dum dum dum) sounds like church bells tolling. It just emphasizes that Frollo sees himself as a righteous man. In this version you can see and hear his struggle. Just after Layne says “burn it”, Geoff sings “the fire within my skin” and as he’s doing so he’s staring at his hands like he’s as if he is confused by his mania. He blames Esmeralda , he blames the devil, and he even blames God. And then that descent into madness begins. And at the end he is truly consumed.🔥🔥🔥 There is so much in this. I had to listen over a dozen times before I heard some of the details like Geoff’s arpeggios while J is singing. And when the guard is telling Frollo that she has gone, you can hear her the BGV’s’s singing “gyp-sy es-caped”. He does indeed do narrations. Most are a bit creepy (Poe, etc) so I can’t listen at night but they are amazing. He just recorded The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow. And a few behind the scenes videos (and I believe in an interview with the Charismatic Voice), they showed some of the lots and lots of layers when they are editing. I believe that Geoff also has a little bit of it on his solo channel where he talks about how he sings so deep and what’s involved in arranging.

In regards to the nasality you mentioned: it is something that can absolutely kill a song... they have it down to a science to convey what they want and not overdo it. With all these guys having voice acting experience, they know how to use their voices without taking it too far.

Hey, just a suggestion, respectfully. When watching Voiceplay (or any video, really) when you pause it, rewind it back a few seconds before starting it again, that way you're less likely to miss good bits. And also, it lets us hear again just what you paused it to talk about.
