Lea Salonga will always be the Broadway Diva. She has perfect pitch and is a very technical singer. Unique sound, perfect diction, amazing vocal control, and proper techniques. Regine Velasquez here showed her Barbra Streisand side. Lea's inspiration has been Streisand, and I think Regine Velasquez mastered Streisand's technique more. They are both so great, and they are queens to their craft.

@@yourmajesty7604 Then show me support how its done , if you don't have stop saying support coz you don't know the meaning of the word , i tell you one example of support , the singer must have at least ease to hit the note , in short not struggling , that is support means? In so hyang's case she supported the notes up to c#5? In 5th octave c5 she already struggling girl? Is that a support? Struggling To hit the notes? If that is support means like experiencing a rapebor i must say like having a stomach ache , you must consult your vocal coach , coz supporting the notes meaning you are not struggling to hit the notes?did you saw sohyang's perf every perf? Girl that was not supported coz she's struggling , supported? Talk to my fucking ass

My queens!!!! Love them both. Lea has been doing A lot of singing online lately bcos of the covid not only for the Filipinos but from the broadway community and also for Disney. She sang Reflection (Mulan) at 8am and the other one at 2am just because the viewers and the host is actually from United States. and of course you know Sondheim. Sondheim recently celebrated his 90th birthday and Lea was one of the guest who sang.. others are Patti Lupone, Lin Manuel etc (All the legends of broadway)

LEA is the 1st Filipino Artist to be signed on an international label(1993), REGINE is the 2nd Filipino Artist to be signed on an international label(1994)with Mercury Records for the album Listen Without Prejudice where she had also a duet with the legendary Paul Anka "It's Hard To Say Goodbye". Celine Dion and Paul Anka did another version of it in 1999. LEA is the BROADWAY STAR who inspired Filipino classical and theater music artists. REGINE is the ASIA'S SONGBIRD who inspired Filipino pop and power belting artists. LEA bagged the lead role as Kim in Miss Saigon Musical reaping international awards. REGINE won the Asia Pacific Song Festival beating international contestants. LEA's Voice remained the same, full of emotion and perfect diction and she sang above her usual range here. REGINE who used to have a thinner and higher voice, now has a colorful rich tone in lower notes and strong high notes.

U-Ned Algabre Don’t spread false news. Regine NEVER signed up with an international label. She’s always been a local starlet, known for her screaming more than anything. Now she has no more voice and no more career. And the pandemic has rendered her and her employer ABS-CBN totally jobless.

It was actually Regine's request for Lea to be her guest on her 50th birthday concert during the quarantine. And Lea cannot say know because both artists have so much respect and adulation for each other. Its about time that these two icons/queens have a big major concert together for a once in a lifetime experience.

She can definitely OVERSCREAM any singer in the Philippines, as screaming like a hyena is her expertise. But she hardly has the ability to overSING anyone because she can’t sing. Worse, she doesn’t even have any quality nor any pleasant musical texture to her hoarse voice.

Regine will always have a full deck of cards whoever she's gonna sing with. She can always pull off her Musical(Broadway Style) Vocal Placement and no she's not gonna back out when it comes to having a duet with the Broadway Queen herself Lea Salonga. Regine can always switch into her Elegant Voice Placement and equip it with her majestic and rich "La Streisand" Vibratos. You will notice how pristine and sophisticated her singing was here. Lea after this duet said that it's really hard to sing with Regine and meant it in the best way and that's because the Songbird is known for her VOLUME, LYRICAL and EFFORTLESS singing. ReginexLea Concert if it happens will be MONUMENTAL.

That's actually true. Regine, when she was younger, was so busy she didn't even have that much time to vocalize before singing. Many times she was hoarse and literally sick and tired from a series of day-long shows, and sleepless and almost without a speaking voice she'd still go on a major concert the very next day without even warming up her vocals... but she'd still slay big time. Then on the next days right after the concert, she'd have another series of shows and gigs and stuff and everything... still belting at the top of her lungs LIVE. The woman is really unbelievable. Without any formal training and background on the "healthier" classical technique, it's really unbelievable how her vocal chords managed to withstand all the vocal stress and abuses she's been doing for more than three decades. Some critics often look down on, degrade, and even bash Regine's unconventional, non-classical approach to belting... but honestly, I feel like even the most trained vocalist with the most perfect and healthiest technique based on classical standards would ruin her voice in a much, much, much shorter length of time doing even just a third of everything that Regine did. And for sure, her voice wouldn't even last a year if she were to employ Regine's belting technique. HAHAHA

That's what's impressive about our singers in the country. They don't show major signs of regress. I mean if you listen to a number of Western artists, like Xtina, you hear the decline of their voice but PH singers (though not trained classically) still manage to sing a birit song after birit song.

The voiceless, netwokless, careerless, and jobless HAS-BEEN Regine has been begging for alms to feed her kid and keep their house. She was NEVER able to perform back-to-back shows in her entire career because of her poor technique (screaming); in fact she’s never been able to pull off singing more than four songs consecutively without ruining her pipes. Properly trained singers keep their voices (not only for 8 consecutive 2.5-hr performances in the case of Broadway singers) but for years. Has-been Regine’s voice has been ruined since her very first concert at the Folk Arts Theater and now even her speaking voice has been ruined for life. There is NOTHING to be proud of in the Has-been’s “singing” abilities. Screaming is poor technique. Let THIS be a LESSON for aspiring singers!

Lea Salonga actually has played a crazy psycho as Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd which is very opposite to her role as a sweet girl as Kim in Miss Saigon. She's a very good actress as well as a superb singer. These two are the best singers in the Philippines so you can expect nothing but the best.

Both are very successful in their own genre, my childhood idols. Regine is more relatable to me because of how hard she worked her way getting to where she is now. Lea doesn't belt all the time but she can. One of the requirements of being the lead star of Miss Saigon is to belt E5 with ease... and she obviously originated that role. Watched her performance in Miss Saigon.. there are act 1 and 2 and those songs are hard especially that she used to sing those 8 days a week.

Exactly! Rachelle Ann said it's always been 8 performances weekly minimum and could go up to 9 depending on the demand! Regine is a very good singer but she always ends up not having a voice after concerts. While Lea rarely experienced that.

I haven’t read all the comments but has anyone even mentioned on Lea’s disadvantage in quality of microphones ? Right off the starting block I noticed the quality. Having said that, these are 2 of the best of the best no doubt along with Barbara Streisand, so this was still epic and it always is with those two. The quality , clarity, technic, range etc etc etc....they have it all. My heart just melts listening to them ♥️. Good reaction too 👍.
