This was actually done in 1988 and he had to get permission special permission to do the video because this was actually made in a military school in Mexico. He actually had to live as if he was actually serving in the military. The hair cutting scene was obligated to attend the school. At first he disagreed to cut his hair because that was his style and his signature hairstyle at the time. But if he didn’t cut his hair, he wouldn’t be allowed to shoot the video. Most if not all of the stunts were real. He was very dedicated and professional to make this video happen. This was one of the first big productions done in Mexico. The song was named the biggest Spanish song of the 80s. The song has over 1 billion streams across all platforms and it’s one of the most streamed 80s songs of all time. I first found out about Luis Miguel while watching the movie Speechless in the early 90s and although I didn’t know Spanish I was amazed at his voice. Fast forward to today, I have 10+ albums of his, saw him in concert thrice, and my wife and I will be seeing him every time he comes back to Dallas now that we live here. Actually the song is from the 80ies and has a lot of story behind it. He wanted to shoot a video with the military but they didn't allow it. So he made a deal to undergo training to be able to make the video. And that's what you are seeing and the story. They actually made a Netflix serie about Luis Miguels life.
